Guidelines for In Plant Training Report for


MBA 2019-20

In Plant Training (MANB 551) :

At the end of second semester, all the students will have to undergo In-plant Training (MANB-
551) of 6-8 weeks with an industrial, business or service organization. The condition of
successfully completing the programme shall not be deemed to have been satisfied unless a
student undergoes In-plant Training under the supervision of the department in organization as
approved by the Departmental/Faculty from time to time. Each student will be required to submit
the inplant training report to the Department/faculty for the work undertaken during this period
within three weeks of the commencement of the third semester for the purpose of evaluation in
the third semester.

A candidate shall not be allowed to appear for III semester Examination of Full Time 2
years Course unless he/she completes the In-plant Training and submit the reports to the
concerned teacher.

The purpose of including project report in the 2nd semester is to provide you an opportunity to
investigate a problem applying management concept in a scientific manner. It enables you to
apply your conceptual knowledge in a practical situation and to learn the art of conducting a
study in a systematic way and presenting its finding in coherent report. As student-managers, you
are constantly seeking information to base your decision. How well you collect, synthesize and
make the data meaningful is what you learn through this process.

Objectives:

 To expose students to the working of any organization and managers.


 To relate the concepts learnt by the students to the working of the organization.
 To work on a problem identified by the organization / student and thus understand the
practical aspects of the working of an organization.

Guidelines:

 The compulsory project work shall be for a period of 6-8 Weeks.(Industry work + Report
preparation)
 The student shall submit 2 Spiral bound copies of project reports after the completion of
the project work within a week. One copy will be return to the student.
 CD containing project PDF file with scanned copy of front pages along with duly signed
company certificates, Institute certificates and PPT of final presentation.
 The student shall seek the guidance of the internal guide on a continuous basis, and the
guide shall give a certificate to the effect that the candidate has worked satisfactorily
under his/her guidance.
 On completion of the project work, student shall prepare a report with the following
format.
 The project report shall be prepared using word processor Viz., MS Word, Times
New Roman with Main heading 16,Heading 14 and regular body 12font.
 All the reports shall be back to back print on the A4 size 1” margin on all sides, 1
lines pacing.

 The report shall be Spiral bound indicating the title of college and month and year
of admission.
 A certificate by the Guide and Head of the institution indicating the bonafide
performance of project by the student to be enclosed.
 A certificate by organization/company/Industry indicating the bonafide
performance of project by the student to be enclosed (if applicable)
 An undertaking by the student to the effect that the work is independently carried
out by him/her.
 NOC from the Guide must be attached at the end report after Annexure.
 Two spiral bound Report copies and CD (Project Report PDF file with scanned
duly signed certificate by austerities and final PPT) Should Submit.

Department wise study:


 List of Departments
 Departmental Structure (hierarchy), function, process, standard of procedure etc.

 Approach (This includes partitioning of the problem into tasks and subtasks, scheduling
of these tasks over the training period, determining milestones to monitor progress,
needed tools and equipment, and expected results).

Sample topics for department wise study during summer training in the Industry.

Finance Department

Financial Statement analysis is to be done with he help of above mentioned any one
methods with reference to last 5 years Balance sheet analysis.

EVALUATION OF PROJECT REPORT

EVALUATION OF THE REPORT

The evaluation of the project report will be done as per Dr. B.A.M. University MBA syllabus
Guidelines in two phase’s viz. - the written report and the viva-voce. The assessment of the
report is done on standard criteria. Please study the criteria and the weight age given to each
before you begin your project work.

The student will be expected to make a presentation/viva-voce of the In-Plant Training work
towards the end of the third semesters.

Out of aggregate 100 marks assigned to the project report, the report preparation will be assigned
50 marks, its presentation will carry 25 marks and viva voce will carry 25 marks. The project
report, presentation and viva-voce will be evaluated jointly by the internal and external
examiner.

Two typed copies of Project Report shall be submitted by the candidate to the concerned teacher
for Evaluation.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

As per University Norm, Project work will be evaluated by the External Examiners along with
Internal Examiner.

Performance will be evaluated by Internal Examiner in two stages (50 Marks)

** Candidate will be evaluated by calculating the average marks obtained in In plant report
review I& II.
