Insect Collecting Devices:

1. Aerial net:
Aerial nets are used to collect flying
insects such as mayflies, dragonflies,
butterflies, moths, true flies, bees, and
wasps.

4. Light trap:
The purpose of using light traps is to
monitor the populations of a particular
flying insect and collection of night insects.

2. Dip or Aquatic net:


perfect for catching and observing small
pond organisms or stream life.

5. Sifter:
Sifters are used to collect insects that live
in ground litter and soil. Also useful for
winter collecting to pick up hibernating
specimens.

3. Aspirator:
Use for collecting small, delicate or active
insects from under rocks or bark or for
removing them from your collecting net.
