NCJD is an autonomous Society registered in January, 1992 under the Societies
Registration Act of 1860 at Delhi having its Head Quarters at Kolkata and a
Regional Centre at New Delhi.The Centre is governed by a Council of Governors
comprising twenty-five members.The Union Textiles Secretary is the ex-officio
Chairman of the Council.The NCJD Council of Governors is reconstituted after
every two years.The present Council was constituted in September, 2002.The
Description aims and objectives include assisting entrepreneurs, artisans, craftpersons
designers manufacturing, governmental and non-governmental agencies through
transfer of technologies, providing support services, executing market promotion
strategies, providing financial assistance, forum for interaction with various
national and international agencies etc.With the ideas of carrying towards the
mandate NCJD operated the following schemes.These schemes are promotional
in nature and are fully funded by the Government of India through Plan funds
