From the Histogram Dialog Box, use your number series as the input range,
leave bins empty and select an output range.

This will generate an output range consisting of Bins and Frequency. Select Frequency
the entire output range including headers and then use the Chart Wizard to
create a simple column chart to display your histogram. OR, an XY scatter 4.5
with a smoothed line shows a nice curve.

Subject: [EXCEL-G] Histograms with frequency on y-axis

Dear list,

I am having some trouble creating a frequency histogram. My data looks

something like this:

1
2
1
3
3
1
2
1
3 4 5 6 2
4

I have successfully created a histogram, but the y-axis units is in actual

occurrence (so, for example, 4's frequency would be "1" on the y-axis). I
to either:
1) change the y-axis units to express frequency (so for example, 2s frequ
would be .3 (3/10) rather than 3)--is there any way to do this after the
histogram is created?
2) re-make the graphs so that the y-axis is expressed as percentages

Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
