A STUDY OF THE “NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON

YOUTH”

 INTRODUCTION
This research focuses on the negative impacts of social media on its users, particularly the

youth in the eastern part of the Uttar Pradesh. This part will find out what these social media

are. What are the problems regarding communication youth faces through on social media.

People are becoming more social and more interactive with others but the mode of

communication has changed. One of the example are Cyberbullying social media allows for

more contact, more communication and in a more public manner.

 REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE


This research effort is targeted at finding the effects of social media on youth. Therefore,

the literature review discusses the relevant research that is useful to the objectives of this

research project.

 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


This part will try to find out the negative impacts that social media has on the youth and their

behavior. Social media has been described as an important part of a youth person’s life. People

of all age groups have embraced this medium of communication. Technology has many negative

aspects, it can become more dangerous. Some of the negative impacts of social media are

depression and anxiety, fear of missing out , unrealistic expectations and harassment etc.

 AIM
This study hopes to determine the negative impact of social media. This will be

completed by exploring the history of social media then examining the changes that have

come with its introduction.


 OBJECTIVES

The main objective behind the selection of this topic is to analysis the effects of social

media on youth.

1. To determine how the youth in the eastern part of the U.P use social media in

their daily lives.

2. To finds out the impacts social media has on behavior changes among the UP

youth.

3. To determine if the youth in UP prefer social media as means of communication.

 METHODOLOGY
In this part I have collected data from the primary and secondary sources. Simple random

sampling will be used and quantitative based. A survey based method was used for this

research study. A set of questionaries’ and interviews are made up of 5 questions were

designed. Among the 200 students of the SMS COLLEGE from Varanasi during the

academic hours. Variables are also used in the form of { AGE ,SEX ,ACADEMIC

RANK} to show the how many youth are involved and their demographic profile of

respondents.

The above study is limited to the data collected the time restraints and the resources

required to proceed with the research procedure.
