MINUTES OF MEETING:
I. Meeting was called to order @ 6:15 p.m.by Ellen
II. Reading of the Gospel for the day (Lk 6:39-42) by Fr. Mariel
III. Silent Reflection on the message of the Gospel
IV. Second reading of the day’s Gospel by Fr. Mariel
V. Individual Sharing:
1) Ana – don’t look at others with contempt, our sins may even be heavier and our
weaknesses more than them.
2) Luz – we can’t give what we don’t have. God equips those whom He called. Our vision
guides our mission.
3) Closing with Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory be… by Fr. Mariel
VI. Reminder from Fr. Mariel that Commission/ministry meetings should always start with a prayer
& the gospel reading.

GENERAL CONCERNS:
A. Pastoral Visit of Bishop Jesse Mercado
a. Last time in July – physical inventory & BEC focused
b. Oct 9
i. 3:00 p.m. – canonical books checking, meeting with parish staff for their concerns
 ii. 6:00 p.m. mass: all parish workers to attend. Uniforms for those serving at mass. All
others wear green top.
iii. After mass – PPC encounter with the Bishop
1. OIC – Ellen
2. Commission reports (short outline) more on the youth – concerns, positions,
suggestions, interaction, thoughts, learning, etc.
3. Food : potluck dinner for PPC members. All others: one solid, one liquid
B. ComBANE still has no coordinator
a. Wrong notion: BEC is not Dev Com.
i. Basic ecclesial community of prayer, catechesis, mass & fellowship among neighbors
including the reception of needed sacraments, Lectio Divina and agape

C. Activity this month: Sept 28 from 7 a.m. – Kids for Christ by CFC with medical mission for children
9-13 years old
D. PREX recent graduates didn’t plan yet for the next PREX: no fund-raising, no schedule, no meeting
initiated yet by President Bobby Franco & VP Bobby Bautista
E. Evaluate activities this past year for planning of the Ecumenical Year activities: objectives,
activities, time line, point person for 2020 (SMART goals) – before Christ the King. Nov 16 or 24?

F. Leadership seminar scheduled Sept 21 moved to Sept 28 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
G. Dynamic Microphone returned to tita Emma (not compatible with our current condenser type)

COMMISSION REPORTS:
1. COMMISSION ON FAMILY (CoF) reported by Joey - Marriage Encounter seminar on Oct 19-20 @
OLFP (5 couples per parish); deadline for registration Sept 17. Other forthcoming seminars: same
sex attraction & SOWER
2. COMMISSION ON YOUTH (CoY) reported by Shamira:
a. 5 attended Paghilom
b. Aug 21 – CoY concerns/issues to Vicariate/Diocese
c. Aug 25-26 : 8 attended EYM, cascaded to MAS
d. Data base for children done; IDs being made for attendance monitoring
e. Sept 28 – Kids for Christ (KFC)
f. Nov 8-10 (Friday night to Sunday): YE Batch 10; YA from Ascencion Parish to assist
g. Parish based living Rosary on Oct 26 after the 6:30 p.m. mass
h. YE fund raising activity: cake raffle – tickets at P10 in bundles of 10 = P100/sale. In this
regard, cake pledges received and Au Talavera to donate Casio watch & Bags for major
prizes

3. MOTHER BUTLERS’ GUILD (MBG) reported by Susan:
a. Of total 24 members, 3 were not able to attend OGF
b. Flower purchase – conflict on time & place (Friday evening or Saturday morning; Dangwa
or Zapote)
c. Nov 19 @ 7 a.m. - Diocesan induction of 4 new members. Fr Mariel’s presence needed.
d. One couple prospect for ME
4. EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION (EMHC) reported by Caesar:
a. 15 attended last meeting, more than seven who attended first meeting. Valid absence:
i. Fermin operated on
ii. Jojo on dialysis
iii. Paolo has work
b. EMHC to donate cake to CoY fund raising
c. New prospect from Carmencita to attend next meeting.
5. LEGION OF MARY (LoM) reported by Luz : to support the living Rosary
6. MUSIC reported by Aldrin: preparation for living Rosary, Christ the King & Christmas
7. COMMISSION ON LITURGY & POPULAR RELIGIOSITY (CLPR) / MINISTRY OF LECTORS,
COMMENTATORS & PSALMISTS (MLCP) reported by Kim
a. No need to clap hands to recognize guest priests
b. Maricel retained as Treasurer of the group
c. Proper attire announcement before & during mass
d. Uniform for meetings/formations outside the parish
e. Proper receiving of communion – shawl cover by MUGC for those not properly dressed
8. COMMISSION ON SERVICE TO HUMAN PROMOTION reported by Lillian: Ballroom
dancing/fundraising event on Nov 23 at Cittadella Clubhouse; ticket at P500.
9. COMMISSION ON CATECHESIS AND RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (ComCaRE) reported by Ana:
a. Aug 12 & 21 – Amalie & myself attended the VSJ BA meeting at OLFP where schedules &
details of next DOP plenary sessions were given; i.e. venues, presenters, host vicariate and
topics to be delivered.
b. Aug 14 – attended Fr. Domie Guzman’s talk on the BVM in the New Testament
c. Aug 23 – 4 catechists (Amalie, Ana, Luz, Welinda) attended VolCats’ semi-monthly OGF @
GSP with topic “First Aid” given by Sr. Violy Afable, a nurse-nun
d. Aug 30 - 4 catechists (Amalie, Ana, Tesy, Welinda) attended VolCats’ semi-monthly OGF @
GSP with
i. Gospel reading (10 virgins: 5 wise, 5 foolish) & reflection: the importance of
vigilance, value of patience in waiting, virtue of final perseverance, personal
responsibility & accountability.
ii. Sis Ophine’s talk on classroom management, lesson planning, actual teaching and
the art of questioning.
iii. Parish ComCaRE coordinators’ meeting after the OGF. I was appointed vicariate
secretary.
e. Sept 7-8 : I attended SOWER at OLFP which started at 6:30 a.m. daily. Ended at 10 p.m. the
first day & 4 p.m. the next. Topics were:
i. Encounter with self as a person
ii. Encounter with self as a solo parent
iii. Encounter with God’s love
iv. Encounter with God’s Word
v. Encounter with the community
 f. Sept 13 - 3 catechists (Amalie, Ana, Welinda) attended VolCats’ Catechetical month activity
at MIP
i. Lauds
ii. Mass by Fr. Fidel Fabile
iii. Talk on “Empowering the Youth for the Synodal Church” by Fr. JP Frias

REMINDERS FROM FR. MARIEL:

A. To LoM – 2,000 Hail Mary on Dec 8, 2019
B. To MBG – crystals with small cracks
C. To MUGC – envelopes for the souls
D. To ComCaRE – catechesis on Prayer for the Soul before November

Having no more pressing issues at hand, the PPC meeting was adjourned @ 8:25 p.m. with closing prayers
& blessing of the bounty of the Lord by Fr. Mariel. Flowing food was generously shared to us by
benefactors.

God bless all the works of our hands. His glory be praised forever.
