Narrative Report on the Conduct of

Joint BSP & GSP School Based Camp 2017

DAY 1
TIGAO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL conducted Joint BSP & GSP School –
Based Camp last October 21 – 23, 2017 with the theme: “Scouts Influencing the
Globe’’. The event aimed to train scouts on becoming responsible in different
aspects of life and an agent of change to the community as well. The event started
at exactly 8:00 o clock in the morning which is the arrival/settling down and
registration of every participant.

In the afternoon, the program had formally outset by a prayer led by the BSP
Staff and followed by the singing of national anthem conducted by the GSP Staff.
Ms. Pamela Lou Suazo, GSP Adult leader recited the BSP and GSP Scout Law and
proceeded by the hoisting of School BSP and GSP Flag by Mr. Jonathan L. Ambel,
MAELT, the School In Charge and assisted by Mr. Romeo Tiongzon, BSP coordinator
and Ms. Evelyn E. Polinar , GSP coordinator. Ms. Alfreda C. Cuadrazal, Master
Teacher – I of Tigao National High School gave her words of welcome to every scout
who participated in the said event. After the warm welcome, Ms. Archie B. de Los
Arcos, GSP adult leader acknowledged the participants through their yells. There
were 5 patrols namely: Patrol Frozen and Moana for GSP and Patrol Cobra, Dragon
and Shark for BSP. Every scouts prepared a creative yell for their patrol. The BSP
coordinator, Mr. Romeo E. Tiongzon declared the opening of the Joint School Based
Camp 2017. The program ended at exactly 5:00 o’ clock in the afternoon and hosted
by Ms. Jenie P. Josol.
DAY 2

Early in the morning while the sun was still asleep, the BSP and GSP
coordinator checked and inspected the patrol groups and let them formed in the
school ground for their morning routine, the morning exercise and flag ceremony.
At exactly 7: 00 o’ clock, all the scouters attended the Holy Mass at Tigao Chapel.
After the mass, everyone did the clean-up drive around the barangay.

In the afternoon, various challenging activities experienced by the scouters


which developed their vigor, team building and collaboration.

In the evening, the highlight of the event was the Camp Fire. It was started by
the solemn singing of invocation Ms. Sherry M. Bohol, SP Adult leader and followed
by turning off of all the electrical lightning. After lighting up the fire, everyone sang
the song “Campfires Burning” led by Ms. Archie de los Arcos.

While waiting for the fire to turn into ashes, some viewers, teachers,
coordinators and visitors witnessed varied presentations prepared by every patrol.
That night was full of laughter’s and memories to cherish.

DAY 3

Time flies fast and in every beginning there should be an ending. The third
day was the coronation and closing program. But in the morning there were still
activities such as formation, checking of patrols and inspection of individual scout,
morning exercises, recycling and parlor games. The facilitators gave chance to the
scouters to play games to developed their capabilities, enhance team building
attitudes and mold them to become a capable leader in the future.

In the afternoon, was the coronation and closing program of the BSP and GSP
Joint School Based Camp. The program was formally started by a prayer sang by
Ms. Sherry M. Bohol and followed by singing of the national anthem conducted by
the scouters. The GSP District Coordinator, Ms. Madelyn V. Dumagan gave her
words of wisdom to the scouters. She stated that this scouting is not just for having
fun, but this aims to produce a progressive, active, disciplined and God fearing
individual. After the inspiring words, was the last walk of the former Mr. BSP 2016
and Ms. GSP 2016 followed by the coronation of Mr. BSP 2017 and Ms. GSP 2017
and giving of bouquets and sashes to the prince and princesses. Mr. Martin
C. Esmeralda was the one who declared the closing of the Joint School Based Camp
2017 and followed by the community singing via multimedia presentation. The
program ended at exactly 5:30 o’ clock in the afternoon together with the retreat of
all the participants.

Indeed, the Joint encampment of BSP and GSP are worth remembering to all
participants for they have experienced the many challenging activities that promotes
self-reliance, team building and courage, leadership and good rapport beyond the
troop.
