The Peculiar Book

A Short Story
by yee

Jenna Thunder was thinking about Zach Doop again. Zach was
a cowardly muppet with grubby eyebrows and greasy lips.

Jenna walked over to the window and reflected on her

backward surroundings. She had always loved rural Upper
Boggington with its big, boiling beaches. It was a place that
encouraged her tendency to feel sad.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It

was the a cowardly figure of Zach Doop.

Jenna gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was an

articulate, caring, wine drinker with charming eyebrows and
vast lips. Her friends saw her as a panicky, perfect painter.
Once, she had even helped a chubby disabled person cross
the road.

But not even an articulate person who had once helped a

chubby disabled person cross the road, was prepared for what
Zach had in store today.

The moon shone like jumping pigeons, making Jenna barmy.

Jenna grabbed a peculiar book that had been strewn nearby;
she massaged it with her fingers.

As Jenna stepped outside and Zach came closer, she could

see the obedient glint in his eye.

"Look Jenna," growled Zach, with a remarkable glare that

reminded Jenna of cowardly ostriches. "It's not that I don't love
you, but I want revenge. You owe me 6446 euros."

Jenna looked back, even more barmy and still fingering the
peculiar book. "Zach, beam me up Scotty," she replied.
They looked at each other with active feelings, like two tricky,
talented tortoises skipping at a very popular funeral, which had
trance music playing in the background and two arrogant
uncles running to the beat.

Jenna regarded Zach's grubby eyebrows and greasy lips. "I

don't have the funds ..." she lied.

Zach glared. "Do you want me to shove that peculiar book

where the sun don't shine?"

Jenna promptly remembered her articulate and caring values.

"Actually, I do have the funds," she admitted. She reached into
her pockets. "Here's what I owe you."

Zach looked active, his wallet blushing like a klutzy, kind kettle.

Then Zach came inside for a nice glass of wine.
