OSS Engineer - Romania

Connect44 are currently searching for a OSS Engineer to join a new Managed Service setup to
support a new and exciting 4G swap / 5G network rollout project for a leading UK network
operator. Our highly-ambitious customer is driven to become the “number one branded company
in the UK”, and is motivated to deliver innovative automation solutions that will challenge and
overhaul the entire service management systems and processes. Connect44 will be providing a full
service management team in the UK and its offshore facility in Romania to support this flagship
service.

Main tasks
 Daily maintenance of various OSS systems and tools, predominantly Huawei U2000, to adhere to
contractual objectives and SLAs.
 Manage Incidents that affect NMS/OSS systems
 Task handling based on Ticketing system and troubleshooting process flow
 General O&M activities across all OSS platforms to maintain database performance.
 Pro-active monitoring of OSS component performance and capacity.
 Perform health checks on critical platforms and analyses alarm trend to ensure smooth operation,
develop routine procedures for proactive purposes
 Consultation and support for all project teams related to RAN/Transport OSS Components, technical
escalation to vendor, issue trouble report and follow up resolution
 Backup maintenance
 Keep consistency in process descriptions and system documentation
 Data Integrity Management.

Required compentencies
 Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
 Wide skills and practice of infra management, including:
o Unix server/storage (IBM/HP/SUN…);
o Network (switcher, router, firewall);
o Operation system (UNIX, Linux);
o Database(oracle)
 OSS background (ITSM, Monitoring, etc.), U2000 knowledge highly desirable.
 Knowledge of standard Unix/Linux tools & scripting languages (Bash, Python) is considered a plus.
 Fluent English communication skills
 Familiar problem troubleshooting, response, escalation, report and consolidation
 Experience in configure troubleshoot and maintain a range of common server applications
 Excellent communication skills, team–player and the ability to work productively in a team
 Provide a 24x7 service supervision through on call
