First bimester

1. LEARNING ACTIVITY

Identify testing approaches and principles of language assessment, provide


definitions and examples. Put the knowledge into practice.

Find a language test (if you work as a teacher you might use your own one) and
evaluate it according to the knowledge obtained from this subject.

●● Apply technical criteria on designing testing instruments

4. STRATEGIES:

●● Read and study the corresponding information in your textbook and


the didactic guide related to chapters 1 and 2. Apart from that, it is
recommended you watch some YouTube videos, read articles and use
Google in general to find the appropriate information and to reinforce your
knowledge.

●● Use a table to write the definitions and examples for each item, use the
table only as a sample, in your assignment you might use your own table.
Make sure you provide detailed and clear information that is worth of
obtaining enough points.

●● Select a language test, you must include/attach the test you have
selected to analyze. If you are a teacher you can use your own test you
have designed for your students, if you don´t have any test available,
you must find some on the Internet and analyze it according to the
criteria stated below.

●● Answer the following questions and support your responses.

●● What is the purpose of the test?

●● Demonstrate that the test you used for analysis is reliable, practical,
and valid. Make a short comment on each aspect based on your quiz.
To do this, study chapters 1 and 2 and any other source you consider
necessary.

●● You may also consult the necessary additional information on the Internet.
Do not copy it but paraphrase it. If you do so, remember to cite properly
the used sources.

●● Do NOT copy the ready-made exercises. The ready- made Internet or


textbook activities will NOT be graded and will be considered as plagiarism
and graded zero. Use your own knowledge, creativity and intelligence. If
you choose a test from the Internet, you must include the references.

3. COMPETENCES that support the activity:

Students will be able to:

●● For creating a new test of Listening and Speaking parts study chapters
7-8.

●● Search about the CEFR levels for languages.

●● Apply the theory into the requested sample test.

●● For listening section (Assessing listening): Create a listening test that


includes 5 DIFFERENT LISTENING TASKS (for each task 3 questions
of for instance multiple choice, true or false statements, filling in gaps,
matching, choosing an appropriate picture etc.). Consider level B2. Be
creative. Do not use exercise provided on the Internet, it is taken as a
plagiarism. (In total Listening test will include 15 items).

●● You might use any audio or video taken from the Internet, however the
exercises must be yours, not copied.

●● To do this preciously, study chapter 7 and use other source you consider
necessary.

●● Provide clear instructions, attach the audios or links where you have
taken the audio, pictures, video or other links from, and cite all sources
you have used in this activity.

●● For speaking section (Assessing speaking): Create 5 different


speaking tasks-activities with different topics (NOT 5 QUESTIONS)
that can be applied for B2 level students of English (according to CEFR).

●● The speaking activities must include a specific topic to be developed,


not only the description or instructions how it will be developed. It must
include a concrete sample.

●● Explain clearly instructions, if necessary provide pictures, other material


or sources necessary to understand and accomplish clearly this task.

●● Create a rubric for speaking test and be clear which aspects should be
considered to be included while grading and explain/describe the method
you selected to calculate grades.

●● Be original while creating the speaking test, do not copy anything from
the Internet, it is easy to be recognized as plagiarism.
