1. Perform an experiment to obtain V-I characteristics, holding and latching currents of SCR,
which is triggered at 20V applied across its anode to cathode terminals.
2. Perform an experiment on MOSFET to obtain transfer characteristics and also indicate the
variation of drain current as a function of drain – source voltage with gate –source voltage as
a parameter.
3. Perform an experiment on IGBT to obtain transfer and output characteristics.
4. With both Resistance and Resistance Capacitance triggering circuits, turn-on the given SCR
exactly at 300 and 1200. Obtain load and thyristor voltages for those firing angles.

plot capacitor voltage and load current. The PSPICE model parameters of Transistor are IS =
6.734f, BF = 416.4, BR = 0.7371, CJC = 3.638P, CJE = 4.493P, TR = 239.5N, TF = 301.2P and that
of the diode are IS = 2.2E-15, BV = 1800V, TT = 0.
Consider RL load (3Ω, 40.91µH) with LC filter (681.82µH, 8.33µF) and transistor trigger circuit
resistance 250Ω.
16. Simulate a single phase full converter, with supply voltage 230V 50Hz, driving RLE load (10Ω,
20mH, 10V) with a capacitive filter of 793µF in series with a 0.1Ω resistor. Consider firing angle
of π/3 and π/2 radians. Plot source voltage, load voltage, load current and source current.
