GGE Power Pvt. LTD.: Scrubber Process Description
A single Raw Water Inlet line distributes the Raw Water to the equivalent Washing
tank (venturi section), scrubbing tank (tower section). Low level Switch provided in
re-circulation tank protects the circulation pump from dry running. High level switch
provided in re-circulation tank operates the makeup sol. Valves, high signal ensure
the raw water make up stopped.
The dosing system attached to the scrubbing system maintains the set pH value of
scrubbing media. It consists of one caustic tank for preparing the NaOH solution,
connected with one dosing pump. For the preparation of the NaOH solution one
stirrer is provided in each caustic tank.If the pH value of solution is not as per the
specifications then the same will be detected by the pH Sensor. In case high level in
tank (Auto/Manual) Bleed Provided in Water recirculation Tank, the raw water tank
connected to the circulation tank maintains the solution level and dosing system
maintain the pH level of the solution.
The necessary valves and fittings are provided for the smooth running of the system.

1. The Scrubber system is provided with control loops such as level control &
pressure control for the recirculationpumps;level control to control the raw water
inlet in the stage-1 recirculation tank& stage-2tank, Ph control for operating bleed
solenoid valves & dosing pumps.
3. Initially the system should be taken on manual and fill the water recirculation tank
and the scrubber liquor tank with water to a level of 50% through manual valves.
Once the level reaches 50% the system should be taken into auto mode.
4. Level Switches are provided on the stage-1 recirculation tank and stage-2
recirculation to monitor the water level low in the tanks to trip the recirculation
pumps. Also the same switches provide high level signal of both the tanks shut
down the make up solenoid valves.
5. Bleed Solenoid valve provided on the stage-1 recirculation pump outlet, to drain
off the highly acidic water when required.
6. Pressure Switches are provided to trip the recirculation pumps, if the pressure
goes lower than the set pressure.
10. Raw water line with automatic On /Off Sol. valve Provided on both stage tanks for
filling the raw water when the level switch high level is not healthy.
