ANSWER 1

INTRODUCTON:

Recruitment is the process of finding and hiring the best-qualified candidate for a given job in a
timely and cost effective manner. The employee recruited can be from within or outside the
organization. In simple terms recruitment is a linkage activity bringing together those with jobs and
those seeking jobs.

The recruitment process includes analyzing the requirements of a job, attracting employees to that
job, screening and selecting the applicants, hiring, and lastly integrating the new employee to the
organization.

CONCEPT:
Since Mazbooti Pvt Ltd, a civil engineering firm require Graduate Trainee Engineers as well as
Diploma Trainee Engineers in huge numbers the two best recommended method that can be used
for recruitment are:

PUBLIC CAMPUS
ADVERTISEMENT RECRUITMENT

1. Public advertisement
It refers to using all modes of communications to attract talent to work with the
organization. Recruitment advertisements may be the first impression of a company for
many job seekers and can directly impact their interest in the job opening.

Quick reach to large group: Mazbooti Pvt. Ltd can advertise about their requirements and
open positions in newspapers, job portals and on the Internet. Since they are looking for
mass recruitment, this can be a apt method to attract large group.

Saves time: This method will save time of finding the correct candidate, as only those who
are interested will apply directly and contact the company. Once the advertisement is
published on a platform the job seekers now contact the company directly saving time for
the organization to move out to find the candidate.

Costly method: this can be a costly process as publishing advertisements are expensive. But
this may not be a concern as Mazbooti Pvt Ltd is a company that has many projects in its
hands which means they have a good budget with them fir recruitment as well.
2. Campus Recruitment
It is process whereby companies undertake an organized program of attracting and hiring
students who are about to graduate from schools, colleges, and universities. Employers
generally attend campuses to promote employment vacancies and career opportunities to
students who are considering their options following graduation. Selection methods used by
employers to select a candidate include interviews, aptitude tests, role-plays, written
assessments, group discussions and presentations.

Target the desired audience: Mazbooti Pvt. Ltd requires Graduate Trainee Engineers as well
as Diploma Trainee Engineers. College campuses are the right place to target the right
employees. Through college recruitment the company may hire as many candidates as
required. Hence the company can opt for this method of recruitment, as it is the most desired
on the basis of its needs.

Better visibility of the company: Mazbooti Pvt. Ltd needs to attract the right candidates. An
advertisement may go unnoticed but campus recruitment may give more visibility to the
company. The students who were unaware may now be aware about the company, its
requirement and its offerings to a candidate.

Quality candidate: When a company finds its candidates through other means of
recruitment, the qualification, the background of the applicants may not be to the expected
level. While finding a candidate from in quaNa good college directly the reliability and the
standard of the applicant is assured. Hence it is advised to Mazbooti Pvt. Ltd to choose this
method for quality employees.

Conclusion:
Both the methods serve the purpose of hiring the desired candidates in quantity but campus
recruitment assures the quality, shall save more time as it directly targets of college graduate
trainees and Diploma Trainees.

Hence it is advised to Mazbooti Pvt. Ltd to select CAMPUS RECRUITMENT METHOD.

ANSWER2

INTRODUCTON:
Most employees have some or the other weaknesses in their workplace skills. A training program
allows strengthening of those skills that each employee needs to improve on. Providing the
necessary training creates an overall knowledgeable staff in the organization. Employees with
access to training and development programs have the advantage over employees.

There are various methods of training employees: -

CONCEPT:
It is said that simulation is one of the best techniques of training.

What are simulations exercises?

In business, simulation training is a virtual medium through which various types of skills can be
acquired. Training simulations are most commonly used in corporates to improve business and
management skills. The word Simulation implies an imitation of a real-life process, usually via a
computer or any other technological device, in order to provide a lifelike situation. They can be
used to allow both specialization in a certain area, and to educate individuals in the workings of the
sectors as a whole, making training versatile. Training simulations are not just games; their aim is to
educate and inform in an exciting and memorable way, rather than to entertain.
In simple terms Simulations technique is the technique where situations similar to the real job are
created virtually. This helps the employees to be prepared when the same situation happens in
reality.
Purpose of simulations exercises
-With practice, learners identify suitable solutions to practical issues and later incorporate these
solutions in their daily activities. This helps them to be more alert and take decisions wisely hen the
actual situation occurs.
-Simulation contains opportunities for assessing and diagnosing individual or team performance
through which their true capability is discovered.
- Simulation in training is the provision for tentative or low risk input. The response of a learner
will not have the impact on the actual working environment. Hence the chances of a wrong decision
impacting the entire organization are nil making it safe.
Benefits of simulations

 Business awareness - before participating in the training programme, many players will have
little idea of how to run a business and what it involves. Simulations allow them to temporarily
have control over a virtual company and see whether their decisions lead them to success or
failure.
 Time management and organization - most simulations contain timed sessions, which will test
the skills of the candidate in submitting decisions within the allotted time slot.
 Team coordination - the majority of training simulations involve working in groups or teams of
people; improving the abilities to communicate effectively, delegate tasks and diplomatically
resolve any problems and situations.
 Immediate Feedback - With training simulations, employees can receive immediate feedback
about their efficiency. Instructors can provide constructive criticism in the moment, and retry
new skills or approaches.
 No risks - Employees may hesitate when introduced to new software, tools, or procedures for
fear of making mistakes. With simulation training, employees are able to overcome such fears
earlier and have fewer of them long term. By reducing these risks, employees gain confidence
faster and are able to recall training in order to learn from previous mistakes made in a no-risk
training environment.
 Multiple Uses - Simulation training does not need to be used only for new elements. Such
training can be helpful as a refresher opportunity for employees looking to strengthen their
skills or by managers who want employees to gain more experience or address a gap in work
efficiency.
 Reduced Costs and Time - With improved retention and practical, hands-on approaches,
simulation training can reduce the amount of time and costs associated with employee training.
With on-site simulation training, companies do not bear the cost of travel associated with
remote training. Furthermore, employees trained via simulation learn about the new tools faster.

Simulation training is used in various fields in real time training: -

Flight simulation- involves reproducing real-world flight scenarios which include runway take offs,
air scenes and also weather conditions.
Ship simulation – involves reproducing real-world naval scenarios which include ship docking, ocean
scenes and also weather conditions.
Driving simulation – involves reproducing realistic car movements, traffic, driveways and weather
conditions.
Air traffic control simulation – involves reproducing real-life flight scenarios which include runway
take offs, air scenes and also weather conditions.
Healthcare simulation – involves replicating real-life medical scenarios with the use of dummy
models. Please follow this link to read more about healthcare simulation. http://healthysimulation.com/
Military Simulation – involves the use of real-life military scenarios and drills. They take on differing
degrees of realism and allow soldiers to undertake what is sometimes referred to as ‘war games’
while not incurring any real casualties.

Conclusion:
Hence,
Factors affecting the demand and supply of a product both must be considered and studied well
before introducing a new product and accordingly a strategy to launch it must be made by Neha and
her organization.
ANSWER 3

INTRODUCTON:
It is not sufficient to determine if the demand is elastic or inelastic in nature. Alpha Ltd market
share is declining hence it needs to estimate the numerical value of change in demand with respect
to the change in price to make the decision regarding entering the segment.

CONCEPT:

3A
Price elasticity using Arc elasticity Method:

This method is used to calculate elasticity of demand at the midpoint of an arc o the demand curve.

E𝜌 = elasticity of price
∆Q = change in quantity (Q1-Q) ie. (250 - 400 = -150)
where Q is the original quantity demanded, ie 400
Q1 is the New quantity demanded, ie. 250
∆P = change in price (P1-P) ie. (120-100 = 20)
P is the original price ie.100
P1is the New price. ie. 120

E𝜌 = ∆Q x P + P1

∆P Q + Q1

= 150 x 100+ 120

20 400+250

E𝜌 = 2. 5384 (ignoring the negative sign)

As price and demand are inversely related and move in opposite directions. Therefore the negative
sign is ignored. (E𝜌 is > 0).

3B

Price elasticity using Percentage Method:

This is known as the ratio method. Using this method, a ratio proportionate change in quantity
demanded to the price of the product is calculated to determine the price elasticity.

E𝜌 = (Q2 - Q1) . (P2 – P1)

Q1 P1
Where,
Q1 = original quantity demanded = 400
Q2= new quantity demanded = 250
P1 = original price = 100
P2 = new price = 120

E𝜌 = (Q2 - Q1) . (P2 – P1)

Q1 P1
= (250 - 400) . (120 – 100)

400 100

E𝜌 = 1. 875 (ignoring the negative sign)

The elasticity using percentage methods aswell is > than 1

Conclusion:
Hence using both the methods the E𝜌 of price is > 1.
