ABSTRACT

Some companies offer perks, to their employees, which are more than salary. This additional income confirms the
loyalty of the employees and more production in return. Also the employees have, not to pay income tax, since perks are
not income just like compensation. Such a company considers it more profitable to pay additional finance to its employees
rather paying additional income tax to the government. It is their additional investment from additional income for
additional income.

INTRODUCTION

Creative writing is based more on manifestation rather than an expression. It does not inform rather reveals, so
this style of writing bears no reference. The best creative writing is critical, and the best critical writing is creative. The
present article is the outcome of creative writing meant for lay readers. As such free style is the methodology adopted so
that the pleasure of reading can be enjoyed by the common mass. As you may know Francis Bacon (1561-1626), the
immortal essayist, wrote many essays and notably, “Of Love”, “Of Friendship”, “Of Ambition”, “Of Studies”, etc. The
myriad-minded genius rightly pointed out that all the words of the dictionary can be the themes of essays one can write.
But little has been done, in this regard since his death, in order to finish his unfinished monumental works. In fact Bacon's
way of presentation, i.e., his unique style kindled the imagination already in me and encouraged me as well to write essays,
in the light of creative writing, thus to get relief through Catharsis.

OF ADDITIONAL

Additional means added. It implies extra e.g. additional resources/funds/security. It is supplementary e.g.
additional information. Further example: There will be a small additional charge. The government is providing an
additional $30 million to expand the service. Additionally, a shuttle service will run on Sundays from 8 am to 5 pm.

Additional is not surplus. Additional is known since it is given upon intimation. But surplus can be known after
verification. Additional is within the knowledge. The surplus is beyond knowledge. Thus, all surpluses are additional, but
all additional may not be surplus. Both are extra. Both are like extra players and kept in waiting for engagement whenever
and wherever required.

In crisis period an additional person or thing is valued much since it saves the person in danger thereby saves the
situation and serves the purpose as well. Thus the value of additional is perceived only in need. An intelligent person, as
such, always thinks for additional and keeps additional person or thing accordingly as per the demand of the situation.

There may be two situations either exact or additional. Exact amount causes tension. There remains no room for
exchange or replacement. Then the whole project may be quite frustrated. To overcome this problem, additional question
papers and answer scripts are kept in the examination venue which is a time bound program. Similarly, election is also a
time bound program. So sufficient additional persons and things are kept and preserved meticulously to overcome the

political crisis. A passenger if carries the exact fare and unfortunately if a single penny is lost, then he cannot avail the
vehicle for the journey.

In any reservation counter for the convenience of counting the exact amount of money is asked to pay. An
intelligent person pays the exact amount to avoid the return denomination of the additional amount of money thus paid.
The return denomination has three outcomes, i.e. exact, less and more. In case of the later two cases altercation thereby
additional problem may arise causing wastage of both energy and time as well.

Additional persons are engaged to assist the senior. It may not possible to set up a new establishment. The
additional officers must coordinate with the boss otherwise there will be chaos rather than helping the boss. To avoid this
boss does his own duty alone. But in case of huge load it is next to impossible.

The additional person if be callous then there will be an additional problem. If the person becomes a conspirator
then it creates another additional difficult problem. If the subordinate be more talented then it offers an extra dimension on
it. In case of persons engaged there may be two outcomes viz., either the subordinate may be faithful or he may gather
others to dethrone the boss. As such selection of employees is very important.

In case of nepotism appointment is given to the concerned candidate who was selected already. In such a case
interview is merely a farce and an eye wash only. In contrast, when the interview is fair and free then no-one knows who
will get the assignment. Then an appointment is given not to the concerned candidate rather to the candidate concerned.
Thus, “concerned candidate” and “candidate concerned” are two clues of the appointment disclosing either practice
or malpractice.

Additional offers advantage at the cost of expenditure. A judicious person considers both advantages and cost
before taking any decision. Additional cow is kept to continue the cultivation. Additional is to cover the risk just like extra
money during travelling.

Someone gets sufficient additional, someone gets little and someone gets not at all. It depends on lobby and luck.
If income is just equal to expenditure then there lies the tension round the clock in the known and unknown problems likely
to appear.

There may be some additional employees. If they are not engaged in long and paid regularly, then they may be
afraid of losing the job. Generally, a worker works and expects his earning regularly in time. It is quite unusual that
payment without any toil. These idle brains either may love or hate each other. The boss hates the additional employee who
quarrels with each other to get the favour and proving self-superiority than his colleagues, though they are equal and at par
in the eye of law.

Man considers all his belongings as essential. He is envious of the fortune of others. He considers other’s asset as
additional and his own as a minimum. He is not happy with what he has. He hankers after more additional assets. The more
the merrier. He enjoys holding instincts with all his belongings.

In case of shipwreck man throws half of his goods into the sea to save his own life from the imminent danger.
Even, he has to throw all his belongings in the water just to save him from drowning. Thus man realizes that his life is
superior to his assets who become liable in crisis. So, asset sometimes becomes liable. This essentially becomes additional.

A person may have many friends and followers. If one is allowed for entry, then he goes alone, leaving all his
near and dear ones who become instant additional at that moment. Sometimes he may allow the dearest one to go. It is a

risky decision. Other followers may rebel. If more persons are allowed, then the selection process depends on the secret
gradation list done already.

Gradation list is an outcome of daily experience and a critical task performed by the brain through innovative and
unique mechanism. This list remains hidden in his memory. The selection process may suffer from nepotism. Also,
there may be no compromise with quality. It depends on the strategy of the concerned person. The man suffers from the
illusion. He may have over-estimated or under-estimation of self. Then one can understand his demand and real status as
well, when hard reality is faced with.

A bad student reads little. He considers other lessons as additional. In contrast a good student reads first page
to the last page and takes additional subject for his enrichment. This additional labour prizes him and paves his future
success.

The problem arises when the additional cost exceeds actual cost. It really becomes a burden when interest exceeds
principle. Additional is small but becomes bigger as time passes. So, time is a crucial factor like a cancer that spreads very
quickly. In mathematics multiplication is a big addition.

Additional is good if favours and bad if not. It is good if not to pay or unconditional. As such, employed son
is prized, unemployed son is the additional burden.

Man is a social being. He is bound to help. Also, he is bound to take help from others in need or danger. This man
willy-nilly helps and takes help from others. Yet, help or assistance from others is not good. Then there remains the
question of reciprocation. A Good Samaritan does not expect a return. He helps out of good wishes.

One should not help others if not asked. Then help remains unevaluated. But someone helps with the intention of
return. He considers it as an investment. However, whether one expects return or not it matters little. A sensible person
considers it as an additional mental burden that drives him to repay and thereby be free of obligation.

A wise person tries to be self-dependent. He declines to take help from others thinking future consequences. Even
if he takes help he immediately tries to repay either by cash or kind thus to remain free from additional thought of
repayment. His life is already over-burdened with various cares and anxieties. As such he wants not to
be overburdened further rendering his life more miserable.

CONCLUSION

Weak and lazy persons depend on others. Dependence is an alias and akin to reciprocation. That is a burden.
So, the motto should be to help others in distress, but without expecting any return. This hope of return becomes a burden
that causes one melancholy or angry if not received. Thus the expectation is a burden. Also obligation is a burden. The
former is negative and the later one is positive in nature. The burden of any kind is an additional problem that is a
hindrance for moving forward.

English Literature. In Creative Writing two papers have been incorporated in SSRN’s Top Ten Download List three times
in November, December 2010 and April 2011. In Research Gate his papers have reached a milestone through more than
130000 reads. Scholars’ Press and Lambert Academic Publishing House, Germany have published twelve books between
the months July to December, 2016. New Texas, A Journal of Literature and Culture, Sul Ross State University, Alpine,
Texas, USA has published ten essays in February 2018. International Educational Scientific Research Journal (E-ISSN:
2455-295X) and Research Chronicler & Research Innovator (ISSN: 2347-503X; 2348-7674), SRYAHWA
Publications, USA and IOJPH, Australia publish Creative Nonfictions every month regularly. Now he is pursuing his PhD
thesis in Business Management in University of Calcutta, India. Also he is currently focussed on the Extension Works of
Huffman Code i.e., Coding Theory and Pattern Recognition through Fuzzy Logic (Pattern Recognition, Image Processing,
etc) of Computer Science. His hobby is Creative Writing (Nonfiction).
