Slides Instructions
Gather students at the back of the room.
Explain they must prepare 5 pieces of information about
themselves. Give some time to prepare. Give examples of what
they might include. age, live, parent’s names, brothers, sisters
likes/dislikes, favourites, pets, future, weekends, University etc
Then they must select three students and exchange
information.
When they are finished I will hear three boys and three
girls.
Reveal slide one. Ask one student to count all students.
Then ask student to count half the number. Make this group A
and the rest group B.
Explain what the slide shows. Ensure it is understood.
Demonstrate with a student.
Then they must practice it with three different students.
A with B. I will then hear three pairs.
Then change and A becomes B and repeat twice only and
then hear two pairs. THEN SIT DOWN.
Reveal the last slide. Identify where the slide is the same
as the previous slide. Ask a student to identify why the two
halves are different, present and then past.
Elicit meaning of the important questions.
Model the language with a student.
Give time for the language to be learned using Person A and
B
Retire to back and practice in different pairs. Then I will
hear three times.
Finally, remind students of the shape of the vowels by
drawing on the wall with my finger. Ensure they are all
understood.
Then ask students to repeat, “ Hello my name’s Derek,
D.E.R.E.K. My telephone number is 966-716-546. Place them
with the person next to them and practice.
Go around the group till there is no time left.
