Dear Candidate

The number of candidates wishing to use their Cambridge English qualification for purposes such as
immigration and access to work and higher education continues to increase. Cambridge English is
committed to ensuring that Cambridge English is recognised by organisations as one of the most valuable
and secure English language qualifications available.

We are therefore writing to let you know that Cambridge English introduced a new regulation that apply
to all Cambridge English candidates from the end of 2011. Each candidate who takes a Cambridge
English examination will be photographed on the day of the exam.

The photo taken on the day of the test, as well as the candidate’s result, name, date of birth and gender
will be available on the secure Online Results Verification website (if applicable) for use by organisations
wishing to verify a result. Candidates will be able to control who can access their result and view their
photo.

When candidates register to take the exam, they will be asked to sign to give their consent for the
photograph. If candidates are under 18, their parent(s)/guardian(s) will need to give consent.

The photos will be taken using special software provided by Cambridge English, and at all times the files
and photos will be stored securely and will only be accessible by authorised centre staff using a login. For
additional security, all files will be encrypted. Once the photos have been transferred to Cambridge
English’s secure Online Results Verification site, all local copies of the encrypted files will be deleted.

This new regulation is one of a series of measures that have been introduced by Cambridge English in
order to further enhance the security and integrity of the Cambridge examinations.

Declaration:

I wish to be admitted for a Cambridge English exam at the centre named on this form. I will bring a valid
photo ID with me on the test day, and I consent to have my photo taken by the centre on the day of the
Speaking test and/or the written papers. I agree for this photo to be held on the secure Cambridge English
Results Verification site (where applicable), and the photo shall only be available to organisations/
individuals that I give my details to or that I authorise to view my result via a download. I consent that
theses organisations/individuals can use these details to verify my examination result.
