MOBILE RAMEN

Introduction
We all knew that Ramen is a popular noodle dish in Japan. Some Filipinos love
the culture of Japan, also their food. Having a mobile food service is a rare business in
the Philippines; especially here in General Santos City. Mobile Ramen is a roaming
ramen noodle restaurant in the tradition of the Japanese staple dish.
Mobile Ramen is roaming around General Santos and go to other places where there
are plenty of people to buy our food. Having this kind of business, we will have small
competitors only which are the street food vendors.
They are a place where people go for a quick, rich, filling meal when they don’t have
time or simply don’t feel like cooking. The ramen that is being mentioned here is not the
one that people know as the instant noodles. No, the ramen that is to be sold is the
‘real’ Japanese dish. Similar to the instant version, ramen is simple in concept yet
incredibly challenging to produce. To those people who love the culture and food in
Japan and experience the same experience how Japanese ramen culture feels like in
Japan, they can go to our location and buy our Ramen. That is why we come up with
this kind of business.

Marketing Plan
Our business is Ramen, Japanese style ramen. It is a low-cost noodle dish known as
ramen. Ra0men, for consumers, they just have enough money to purchase this cheap
dish for sustenance.
Ramen is profitable; we are taking more money than spending, and making just enough
money to cover basic living expenses.

Product
As previously mentioned, ramen is a very simple dish in concept, but it can be
extremely difficult to master.
Ramen is by nature a standard food, meant for regular consumption without getting tired
of it. Because it is a dish you eat regularly it is meant to be an economical dish paying
50-80 Pesos. The concept of ramen is taking very cheap ingredients and then elevating
them to a new level.
In order to keep food cost down, and to help with quality control, it is intended three
ramen dishes to be served in the menu. Each dish is to be distinctive from the next one,
all of them appetizing. The menu is as it follows:
Pork Ramen (Tonkotsu, Pork Bone) - The broth is made from pork bones that have
been boiled for hours to get all the porky goodness out of them. Three porky sides:
roasted pork belly, roasted pork loin, and pulled pork. Served with a marinated hard-
boiled egg, and bacon strips on top.
Chicken Curry Ramen - This is a dish that brings Indo/British and Chinese cuisines
together. Rich chicken broth seasoned with East-Asian style curry powder topped with
Indian chicken tikka. Served with a tomato-chickpea curry sauce, marinated hard-boiled
egg, sugar snap peas, and naan bread.
Veggie Ramen (Vegetarian) - Almost a vegan dish if it wasn't for the egg inside the
noodles; this dish uses the aromatic components of vegetation to bring a flavor that
rivals its meaty counterparts. The broth is made with seaweed and mushrooms. It is
served with: tofu, mung beans, cauliflowers, green onions, bok choy, and bean sprouts.

Price
There is a math formula that restaurants carry with them as a meter to pricing
their foods. Cost of food is to be set at around 25% of the price. In addition, rent should
take up 15% of forecasted sales. Taking into consideration these factors along with
labor costs, volume of sales, and margin preferences should give the management a
guide into pricing their menu. There is also another factor to be considered, the
immediate competition. Since mobile ramen is located at different places the pricing of
the labor and gas should be accounted in. After taking into consideration all factors
involved, the average price per food would be at around 50-80 lower than the average
of the competition. Although there is an uncertainty on how elastic the customers will
be, the pricing set should reflect the quality of the product as well as stay competitive in
terms of price.

Target Market
Our target markets are the children, students and adults, and College students.
Mobile Ramen was created out of the research into the target market needs. The
company’s target market is catering towards college students who enjoy ramen and
who needs a delicious meal late in the night. It is more focus towards students who are
part of the lower income bracket but can expand to a higher bracket where some
customers are looking for more exotic options.
Students in the vicinity of the customer can witness our service and smell the delicious
ramen that will make them curious of about the business. Word of mouth is a powerful
especially when the customer enjoys the product and wants to share it with their friends.
Location
Our location is in National Highway in the morning, Different school in the
afternoon and Pioneer Avenue in the evening.
We don’t have exactly location in doing our business. We particularly go to different
places, especially where there are too many people. We can go to different streets and
go to another one, to attract our customer. First, we will get a permit to the mayor in
order for us to have a stable place.
Strategy
In order to attract more customers, we will lower the price of the product. Since
Ramen is cheap in ingredients, we will not over price the product. Another way to
customers, since our business can go anywhere, we can do the travel for our customer.
There is no travel fee or chopstick fee; it is all included in the price of the ramen.
The customers and non-customers enjoy interacting with Mobile Ramen and feels like
they have a personal connection to him. Giving a personality to the company helps the
customer to continue to support and advertise for the company.
