Dear Mr. Alburger,

My name is Anders Kikut and I am a junior at Pine Lake Preparatory. As a part of the curriculum
for our junior year, we will be completing a Pride Assignment which lays down the fundamental
jobs we have in mind after high school. In addition to our paper, which is the main aspect of the
assignment, we are to create a fundamental project which we can relate to the topic in which we
hope to pursue. For my topic and potential major in college, I am choosing to write about the
practice of dentistry. I have chosen this topic as it has been something that has interested me for
a various number of years, and I theory enjoy helping people to a great extent.

In my paper relating to the topic, I will include a variety of practices in which dentists perform
on a regular basis. Also, I will be talking about the steps included in order to become a dentist
schooling and permit wise. In general, most of my paper will relate to the topic of Pediatric
Dentistry, which is the study of dentistry correlating mostly to children and young adults. In the
pursuit of this career, the fundamental focus will be the complex schooling which is involved in
becoming a dentist. I am greatly motivated and ready to pursue this career and I will do anything
in my power to achieve this goal. In helping the community around me being a pediatric dentist,
I can improve myself as a person, while influencing other people to do the same.

In using a mentor to guide me along the way during my Pride Assignment process, I will
potentially be using one of the dentists from the list included in my annotated bibliography. If
this plan does not follow through and I am not able to reach one of these dentists who will act as
a mentor, then I will go to my home dentist, DR. Sanchez, of Carolina Pediatric Dentistry in
Cornelius, North Carolina. In my mentoring hours, I would like to go through a variety of
procedures during regular work hours of a dentist and see how the job is done day by day. Also, I
would like to learn about all the tools and supplies in order to follow through with these
procedures. In developing a product for my topic, I will most likely create something correlating
to the mouth, potentially a mold before and after a dental procedure. Or, I could create a variety
of dental tools (new or old) which could be used in the field.
