island of Luzon in the
Philippines. Nestled in stratovolcano
the central part of the
Zambales mountain
range, the volcano lies
55 miles northwest of
the capital city of
Manila.

Mt.Hood miles (80 km) east-
southeast of Portland,
on the border between
Clackamas stratovolcano
and Hood River
counties. In addition to
being Oregon's
highest mountain, it is
one of the loftiest
mountains in the nation
based on its
prominence.
