LEARNING  OUTCOMES  
 
Each  course  has  been  designed  to  contribute  to  the  attainment  of  Graduate  Competencies.  The  
course  intended  learning  outcomes  (CILO)  indicates  what  students  are  expected  to  be  able  to  
do  by  the  end  of  the  course,  which  may  cover  specific  technical  skills  and  personal  qualities  
pertaining  to  the  course  given.  The  personal  qualities  may  have  been  reflected  in  the  defined  
course  learning  outcomes  or  attained  separately,  outside  the  curriculum.    
Upon  successful  completion  of  this  course,  students  are  expected  to  be  able  to:  
1. Identify  Text  Type  terminology  and  its  application  
2. Understand  the  use  of  grid  system  and  analyze  hierarchy  system  in  the  functional  page  
layout.  
3. Explore  possibilities  in  experimental  typography  layout.  
4. Create  conceptual  book  that  demonstrate  the  understanding  of  functional  typography  
lay  out  as  well  as  experimental  typography  layout.  
5. Exhibit  their  work,  giving  critical  opinion  and  appreciation  of  their  works  and  the  work  of  
others.    
 
 

THE  PROJECT  

Using  business  card  template  and  grid  to  experiment  various  typographic  elements.  Student  are  
limited  to  one  family  of  typeface.      

PROJECT  SPECIFICATIONS  

1. Size  9cm  x  5.5cm    

2. Colour:  Black  and  White  +  One  Colour    
3. Material:  Fancy  paper  or  260gr  Art  Carton  
4. Design  both  sides
