Bishop Score

A Bishop Score is used to determine your body’s readiness for birth.

This system, developed by Dr. Bishop in 1964 evaluates: 1) the position of the cervix
as it relates to the vagina (birth canal), 2) cervical consistency, 3) dilation, 4)
effacement and 5) station of the baby.

The higher the score, the more ready the cervix and body are for labor. A score of 6-7
is associated with a higher likelihood of successful induction.
