Good afternoon Tyler,

Having the opportunity to be in a BCOM group with you has been so rewarding and I am excited
for the semester ahead of us. It is clear you are someone that strives for success, which is vital in
our group’s goal of finishing with good grades in our shared classes. After reviewing our most
recent class presentation, I am hoping to give you some tips to continue your growth and to allow
our team to present to the fullest capacity. These tips are not meant to dishearten you in any way,
but instead are to help us continue to progress individually and as a team.

While your presentation skills are advanced, there are always things we can work on to continue
to improve. You provided your attention to the fellow group members while they were speaking
which demonstrated excellent nonverbal behavior. While you were speaking your hand gestures
were appropriate but not over the top and you displayed impeccable posture. Adding on to that,
every sentence you said during both the presentation and the questions section afterward had a
purpose, which directly correlates with your professional credibility.

In looking for ways to grow, is clear you have vast knowledge of Alphabet, which unfortunately
becomes less apparent the more times you refer to the slides. While you did not spend much time
looking at the slides, we want to make sure as a group we look at everyone in the audience to
prove our credibility as informed interns at Alphabet. Furthermore, we could all benefit from
using less filler words, a skill that just comes from practice, and we will improve upon the more
we present.

Though this was our first presentation in BCOM, it seemed as though you had been doing
presentations for years. Going forward, working on making eye contact with the audience and
less focus on the slides will further our collective success as a group and prove our professional
credibility as interns. With that in mind, I am so excited to have you on my team and spend such
a rewarding semester together. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this
further with me, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

Shannon O’Brien
