II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

PROJECT PROPOSAL OUTLINE FORM (PPOF)
Effective Date: July 18, 2018

My First Love is First Aid is a project that focuses on educating teenagers on the
basics of first aid. Knowledge of first aid enables you to support people who are injured
in the event of an accident or emergency until help arrives. First aid techniques can be
practiced at home, at work or in public places, which ensures that the more people who
know about First Aid the safer the community becomes. Accidents occur in almost any
place, varying from minor scrapes and bruises to injuries and other health problems
involving quick initial medical response. Providing first aid training for teenagers helps
reduce risk and enables them to assess and manage the situation during a medical
emergency. Through the lessons and activities prepared for them, the teenagers would
be able to gain basic knowledge which would help them prepare for whenever an
emergency occurs. Accidents comes unanticipated, however the losses and damage it
can create can be reduced.

III. PROJECT RATIONALE

Not all accidents, wounds or illnesses need a trip to the hospital, but this does
not mean that the patient is not experiencing pain or suffering. A child crying because of
a bruised elbow or a fever is in pain and suffering. By knowing how to act–even by
just using a simple technique such as correctly applying an ice pack or using suitable
bandaging then almost every teenager can help ease their pain. They can also provide
emotional support by remaining calm and collected, which will make the person their
helping feel safer and lower their anxiety levels. In some situations, if a patient does not
receive basic first aid care immediately, their situation will deteriorate –often rapidly. By
being able to provide basic care, a teenager can stabilize the patient until emergency
medical services have arrived. If a first aid kit is not available, the teenagers will learn
how to use basic household products as resources, ensuring that they will be able to
cope with many situations.

IV. PROJECT BENEFICIARIES

The target beneficiaries of this project are 30 teenagers from ages 13 to 19 years
old living in the different areas of the barangay. The teenagers in this community will
benefit from this project since they will gain a new set of knowledge that will help them
prepare for whenever an emergency comes. They will gain first aid skills that may
someday help save the life of another person. The teenagers would not only learn but
also experience how first aid is done in the activities to help keep them motivated
throughout the whole session.
