mouthpieces.
• Students will become more comfortable with the proper mouthpiece positioning
on their faces.
Lesson Procedure
• Students will begin in class today doing simple power breathing exercises led by
me, the teacher
• After power breathing, students will break into their sections and practice putting
the mouthpieces onto their faces in the proper way. The teacher will walk around
and make sure everybody is doing this properly.
• After mouthpieces look good, the students will remain in their sections and
practice getting a good buzz through their mouthpiece. The teacher will
demonstrate first, and then students will break again.
• Next, the students will practice buzzing a particular pitch. A Bb will be given to
them via the teacher, and they will match pitch.
• Students will then put down their mouthpieces and the teacher will lead them
through singing warm-ups, and matching pitch with their voice using the same Bb
concert pitch.
• Students will sing the melody of Hot Cross Buns
