Introduction

The people have received health information from many sources such as the physician, family
members, acquaintances and mass media. Since the 20th century, the dependence of people on the
Internet search engines has been increased, because these tools have allowed access to all the web
pages around the world. However, the social media in specific had revolutionized the health
communication due to it being a two-way and interactive communication between health experts
and the public which makes it much more effective towards educating the society which will be
further discussed in this presentation.

Main Point 1: Patient education can reduce the treatment costs greatly through helping patients to
manage chronic conditions of the diseases.
