REPORT ON SCHOOL FIRE DRILL

The quarterly conduct of the National School-Based Fire Drills is aimed to ensure the safety of
students, teachers, parents and staff during at the onset of these disasters. The disaster
management mechanism also seeks to help school administrators and their disaster action groups to
design a specific response plan of the school for earthquakes.
Moreover, there is also the need to train teachers, school staff and students on how to
practice proper action and response during fire; and most important, to test various elements of the
response plan designed by the school disaster management team. Do little harm, but few have killed
thousands of people and cause enormous destruction.
Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum, the pupils and teachers of Pinagkuartelan Elementary
School conducted a simultaneous fire drill with the other public and private schools nationwide, last
March 4, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. it starts by the riging of the bell for one minute signifying the occurrence
of fire. The safest way of getting out the classroom likewise demonstrated to the pupils. The class
advisers showed to their pupils the proper action such as “fire alarm, line up and go outside” and
instructed them to stay calm and proceed to the designated safe place/ refuge areas.

The drill aims to generate the highest level of awareness among pupils, school administrators
about the government’s disasater preparedness program and evaluate the knowledge and response
by the school officials in evacuating the school children to safe places in the eventuality of an
earthquake or any other calamities. This ensures the safety of pupils and teachers against the
damaging catastrophe.
