Uber is a marvelous ride-sharing company that purveys its services all around the globe. It is a
multinational company that has a large network covering many countries in the world. It imparts the
services to people: ridesharing, ride service hailing, food delivery, and a micro mobility system with
electric bikes and scooters. This was founded in San Francisco, America in March 2009. It has raised the
heights of prominence now. The main components of Uber are: Driver and the passenger. The
passengers use mobile app to outreach the driver, who is proximate to one’s area.

The article is devoted to the Uber drivers, and the risks they may face or face while driving the Uber
cars.

Risks:
Being an Uber driver, one can suffer or face a lot of risks described below.

1- Lack of driving Qualifications:

Every institution or organization complies with some specific standards and tenets. To be a driver, one
must have sufficient and ample driving skills that are necessary. The driver must also have the driving
license that bespeaks one’s proper driving ability. But this thing is missing in The Uber system to become
a driver. Absence of stringently checking the license jeopardizes the life of both the driver and
passenger. So, it is blatant risk of being an Uber driver. Sometimes, the Uber drivers unbeknownst to
the traffic rules and not having much artifice in driving end up in an accident.

2- Self and wealth safety:

Being an Uber driver does not eliminates unexpected dangers and risks of self and wealth safety. The
Uber driver is also vulnerable to getting harmed by the passenger. Many reports have shown that in the
past years, some profligates ruthlessly beaten some Uber drivers over trivial reasons, who took to Uber
car to reach their destination. Such stories have also been in the rounds that some passengers looted
the Uber drivers. Even, some Uber drivers have also been murdered. Hence, there is an unequivocal risk
of being an Uber driver, as his self protection and wealth is at stake.

3- Self respect and Chastity:

As it is commonly known, that women and young girls also offer driving services in the Uber. So, there
respect and chastity is also at stake. Reports have disclosed some facts that are fraught with penitence
and Obscenity that women drivers are raped by the passengers occasionally. Especially, some profligate
and vulgar people only book the Uber service to slake their scuzzy lust. So, especially for the tender
gender it is one of the greatest and obvious risks being an Uber driver. Surprisingly, some reports also
show that male drivers were kidnapped by some lewd girls’ gang and raped that driver.

4- Fiscal/ Financial risks:

Financial risk is a serious risk in the Uber. Since, they are not employed officially; they are not offered
bonus and compensations to spend on medical treatment received in case of any injury or physical
break down. The drivers themselves are responsible for car maintenance. In case of any harm to the car
during driving, they have to pay it from their own pocket. Drivers are found remonstrating that the Uber
deduct a large portion of the earned money so t is not much financially feasible for being an Uber
driver.

5- Insurance problems:

It is also a big risk of being an Uber driver. In the regard of driver’s protection, The Uber’s policy is tad
sluggish and bad. As described in the above paragraph, they have to pay for medical treatment from
their own. Moreover, the Uber claims to pay $5 million as a contingent insurance policy which is
believed to compensate the property, loss of life or bodily injury; but, regulators and experts that
neither is it sufficient nor does it comply with the Insurance laws of many countries, especially in
Canada.

Apart from these, the Uber drivers cannot provide services out of the Uber sphere. It also
prejudices their earning opportunity. However, Uber must overhaul its system so as to convince
more people to join Uber as drivers. It is an expanded organization; it must enhance its quality.
