DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATH 2

I. OBJECTIVES
 At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to answer word problems using
addition and subtraction.
 Demonstrate friendliness.

III. PROCEDURE

“Good Morning Class...” “Good Morning Sir!”

“Everybody stand and let us pray first...” (One Student will lead the Prayer)

(Checking of Attendance) (Students will tell who’s absent for the


day)

“So how’s your day? Is it good so far?” “It was great Sir!”

“That’s good to know. So, are you to discuss our “Yes Sir!”
new topic today?’

“Okay that’s good, so let’s begin this with a group “Yes Sir!”
activity! Are you ready?

A. MOTIVATION
Math race. (students will all participate in the game)
First Pit stop – Collect the balloons which
corresponds to their group
Second Pit stop – Pop the balloons to get the
problem inside.
Third Pit stop - Solving Addition, Solving Subtraction
B. DEVELOPMENT OF LESSON

Present a sample problem. (written in the visual aid)

Direction: read the problem carefully. Solve what is (student will read the problem)
ask.

 Jessa put 11 candy canes on the Christmas


tree. If Abdul ate four, and Bembem ate
three. How many candies are left in the
tree?

Ask the following qestions.

“What is ask in the given problem?” “How many candies are left in the tree?”

“How many candies are in the tree? “11 Sir.”

“Add and subtract sir.”
“So, what we will do in order to find the number of
candies left on the tree?”
3 + 4 =7 is the total number of candies ate

Group Activity.
Answer the following problems.

1. Seven reindeers playing in the yard. Two (students will answer the problems)

yard?
2. The kids in Mr. Valera’s class wrote a letter
to Santa. If their were 12 girls and 9 boys in
the class. How many letters are sent to
Santa?
3. Santa have 19 gifts in the sleigh. He
delivered 7 gifts to Callao’s house. How
many gifts are left?

IV. EVALUATION
Direction: Answer the following problem.
1. Eight children were playing in the snow. Four more join the fun. How many children are
playing in the snow?
2. Laiha received ten chocolates from Jeypie. She gave seven to Nica. How many
chocolates she has now?
3. Fermina bake five cakes for her visitors, and thirteen more for her friends. How many
cakes did she bake at all?
4. Reyzel give two boxes of gifts to Halid, three boxes for Jane, and five for Taz. How may
gifts did she gave?
5. Nica ate seven chocolates from Laiha, three from Abdul, and foru from Bembem. How
many chocolates does she ate?
V. ASSIGNMENT
Read the page 65. And solve the activity in page 67.
