Plain Mri Whole Spine: Pain in Neck and Backache
Plain Mri Whole Spine: Pain in Neck and Backache
Date: 09.11.2019
EXAMINATION TECHNIQUE
Multi-planar imaging done through whole spine acquiring T1/T2 weighted sagittal, coronal and
axial sequences. MR Myelography was also performed.
FINDINGS:
LV- 3/4: Circumferential disc bulge is noted causing compression of thecal sac,
bilateral lateral recesses and nerve roots.
LV- 4/5: Circumferential disc bulge is noted causing compression of thecal sac,
bilateral lateral recesses and nerve roots.
LS junction: Circumferential disc bulge is noted causing compression of thecal
sac, bilateral lateral recesses and nerve roots more on right.
Spinal cord appears normal with no evidence of any area of abnormal signal intensity in it.
Artefactual signal is seen hyperintense on sagittal T2WI.
No evidence of any extra-dural / intra dural mass.
Normal appearance of vertebral bodies and posterior elements of spine in the scanned
area.
Ligaments flava and the extra-dural fat appear normal in thickness.
No para-vertebral mass seen.
Pre-vertebral soft tissues appear normal.
No pre-vertebral enlarged lymph nodes are seen.
IMPRESSION:
Multilevel disc bulges with changes relatively marked at LS junction with bilateral
neural tissue compromise more on right
