Introduction to Medical Technology Profession

Research on the related topics asked below and answer the following questions:

1. Evolution in the field of Clinical Laboratory Science as a science and a

profession has been evident. One of which is in its nomenclature. We started
with “Medical Technology” and after more than three decades, the name was
changed into Medical Laboratory Science in the Philippines though it has been
termed as Clinical Laboratory Science/Biomedical Science etc. a long time ago
in other countries. If you are to change the nomenclature of our field three
decades from now, what would it be and give the rationale for such.

2. Make a PowerPoint presentation of at least 20 slides (send this using the same
filename):

 Define Medical Technology as a science and based on RA 5527.

 Trace the brief history of medical technology profession in the

Philippines and abroad and make a timeline on it in a bullet format. State
important information and make your description concise.

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in Innovating World

If I would given a chance to change the nomenclature of our field three

decades from now I will use Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in
Innovating World Because we all know that our life nowadays is extremely
dependent on technology. Technology is advancing daily that’s why some of
us always rely on it because it makes our life easier, the way we communicate
and the way we live. Three decades from now I know that our medical machines,
medical device and equipments would be more improved or evolved and it
makes us easier, faster and more effective to find out the problem or disease
and giving proper treatment for it. Technology is definitely very beneficial for
the modern day healthcare it brings much convenience to both medical doctors
and patients.
In the pasts, doctors only identify diabetes because of the sweets taste
of a patient’s urine. But now, with the help of technology, it would be more
easy for us to identify the diabetes of patient. That why Technology has e very
big impact in medical field it helps us to have accuracy in every results,
enhance quality of human health, creating new medicines and the way of
diagnosing patients.
