Dear customer,

Please take note of the following important notice regarding dangerous goods
shipments.

Summary:
We would like to remind you that when shipping dangerous goods on Emirates, we
require that a 24-hour emergency contact telephone number be included on the
Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGD).

If this number is not answered, we will be unable to accept the shipment for
transport. This is a legal requirement by the General Civil Aviation Authority of the
UAE and is followed similarly by other airlines in other countries.

The emergency telephone number is important for us in the event of an emergency

and will be used for information and guidance, such as a fire-and-rescue effort.

The number must be monitored by an individual who can be contacted in case of

emergency, and who:
is able to converse in English
is knowledgeable of the hazards and characteristics of the dangerous
good(s) being transported
has comprehensive emergency response and accident mitigation information
for the dangerous good(s)
or has immediate access to a person who possesses such knowledge and
information

Full details:
In order to comply with national and international regulations on the transport of
dangerous goods, Emirates SkyCargo only accepts and transports dangerous
goods which have been prepared in accordance with the current edition of the ICAO
Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods (ICAO TI) and
the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR), and which meet the
requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations of the General Civil Aviation Authority
of the United Arab Emirates.

There are currently eight (8) states which have filed a State Variation in the ICAO TI
and the IATA DGR, with a requirement for a 24-hour emergency contact telephone
number to be included on the Transport Document (Shipper’s Declaration for
Dangerous Goods).

The states which have filed variations in the ICAO TI and/or IATA DGR are:
1. Canada – CA-9 / CAG-09
2. Ethiopia – ETG-01
3. France – FR-7 / FRG-07
4. Jamaica – JM-3 / JMG -03
5. Sri Lanka – VC-8 / VCG-08
6. South Africa – ZA-3 / ZAG-03
7. United Arab Emirates – AE-5 / AEG-05
8. United States – US-12 / USG-12

Recently, through internal compliance audits, we have determined that on several

occasions the requirement for a 24-hour emergency contact telephone number on
the Transport Document (Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods) has not been
met.

Emirates SkyCargo would like to remind its customers that for all shipments to,
from, within or transiting through the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emergency
response information (as described below) must be provided for all dangerous
goods for which a Transport Document (Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous
Goods) is required in accordance with State Variation AE-5 (ICAO TI) and AEG-05
(IATA DGR).

The Transport Document (Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods) must

include a 24-hour emergency response telephone number, which must include the
international code and area code, for use in the event of an incident or accident
involving dangerous good(s).

The number must be monitored by an individual who can be contacted in case of

emergency, and who:
is able to converse in English
is knowledgeable of the hazards and characteristics of the dangerous
good(s) being transported
has comprehensive emergency response and accident mitigation information
for the dangerous good(s)
or has immediate access to a person who possesses such knowledge and
information

Any shipments which have been determined to not meet the requirements of the
State Variations as published in the ICAO TI or the IATA DGR will not be accepted
for transport and a report could be filed with the appropriate competent authority.

Please do not hesitate to contact your local Emirates SkyCargo office if you have
any questions on the transport of dangerous goods.

We would like to thank you for your cooperation and understanding to continue the
safe transportation of dangerous goods on Emirates SkyCargo.

Regards,
Emirates SkyCargo
