Anne Frank 

Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929. During the time she was 13, Adolf Hitler came 
into power. She started writing in a diary about the way Jews were being treated by 
anti-semitists. Anne and her family were jewish, so they went into hiding. For two years 
Anne and her family lived in her father’s workplace. 
 
Anne and her family went into hiding on July 6, 1942. On June 14, 1943 Anne started 
writing in a diary she got for her 13th birthday. They were living in the attic of her 
father's job. It was called the secret annex. About a year later the secret annex was 
found. Anne and her sister Margot were sent to the Bergen-Belsen camp. Unfortunately, 
in March 1945 Anne Frank died at age 15 from Typhus​.

The Nazi Olympics 

The 1936 olympics were held in Berlin, Germany. During that time, Adolf Hitler came into 
power. Many feared the olympics would be canceled. Others boycotted the olympics. 
Hitler said he supported it 100% and he even financed it. He also opened the olympics. 
 
The olympics started at 4pm and there were 110,000 people there. The musical 
fanfares were directed by Richard Strauss. Germany, USA, Hungary, Italy, and Finland 
were all in the top 5. Germany ranked number 1 and won 89 medals overall. Germany 
had 33 gold, 26 silver, and 30 bronze.
