Overview and Itineary: Winter Trek in Dalhousie
Himachal Pradesh is gifted with a rugged terrain that makes it apt for various adventure sports, and one
such activity, beckoning people from all parts of India, is trekking. If you have been looking for the best way
to explore Himachal’s picturesque landscape, then this is the answer. Walking on steep slopes, inside thick
jungles and through lush meadows, you will explore the quintessential Himachali landscape. A trek is not
only the perfect option to explore the terrain, but also a great way to indulge in adventure.
Winter is the time when most of its area is enveloped in a thick layer of snow. A trek during this time will
definitely be an adventure for you to remember throughout your life. The temperature falls below zero
degree Celsius, and a mild layer of mist covers the whole region, making it even more charming. Hence, a
trek in winters is a perfect blend of adventure and mesmerising vistas.
Though trekking often becomes difficult in snow, there are some hikes that allow you to navigate on snow
without having to face too much trouble. One such excursion is Winter Trek in Dalhousie. It will take you to
a height of thousands of feet above the sea level, but still you will not feel too much difficulty. The trail is
quite easy and even if you are a novice, you can go for it.
Beginning from the hill station of Dalhousie, the trek from Dalhousie to Dainkund. Your stay here will not
only be a treat for your eyes, but for all your other senses, making you forget that you are still hiking. This
trekking in Dalhousie experience ends as you reach the hill station again on the third day. From there, you
can disperse and move to your next destination to conclude your adventure.
The trek is planned in the month of December and January, when the whole region is graced with a white
layer of snow. Whether it is a family vacation you are planning or a venturesome getaway with old friends,
this trek is apt for both.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Explore Dalhousie!
Upon arrival in Dalhousie, report at the base camp and spend time enjoying the weather of the hill station.
After a short briefing and orientation, indulge in pleasant nature walks around the place. First, you can go to
Subash Chowk and then to Gandhi Chowk. Here, you will have great time tasting the local food, and some
street food as well.
You can also visit the church settled at Subash Chowk, showcasing its architectural beauty that was built
Day 3: Trek from Ganji Pahadhi- Dainkund. Stay in the cottage in Dalhousie
As soon as the morning unfolds, today you will get ready and start the trek to Dainkund. After breakfast,
head out and start the trek to the peak which is nestled near an air-force base, from where the spectacular
views of the Himalayas will ensnare you at one look. You will also come across a temple while trekking to
the peak. A stroll in the woods will take you to the peak. After reaching, click pictures for your Instagram
feed, and then head back for Dalhousie. A small drive will take you ack. Rest in your cottage. Soak in the
tranquility of this town as this will be your last night.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast, you will pack your bags and start for return journey.

30 days or more before departure: 25% of total cost
29 - 20 days before departure: 50% of total cost
Less than 20 days before departure: 100% of total cost
IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR ADVENTURE HOLIDAY
We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel
arrangements. Occasionally, we may have to make changes due to Force Majeure Events and we reserve
the right to do so at any time before or during the trip.
If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date before or during the trip
based on the Force Majeure Events.
We also reserve the right under Force Majeure Events to cancel your travel arrangements / offer alternative
dates / revise the itinerary before or during the trip. Any additional cost incurred due to the above-
mentioned reasons will have to be borne by the traveller himself. There shall be no refund to the traveller
under Force Majeure Events.
Force Majeure Event shall mean and include any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of
Adventure Nation, including without limitation, any act of nature or the public enemy, accident, explosion,
fire, storm, earthquake, flood, drought, perils of the sea, casualty, strikes, lock-outs, labour troubles, riots,
sabotage, terrorists acts, embargo, war (whether or not declared), governmental actions, delay in issuance
or processing of Visa/permit, change of laws and regulations, orders, or decrees, or other causes of like or
different character beyond the control of Adventure Nation.
