Seminar Reflection: How to Become Successful

Eversince I heard from our NSTP professor about the seminar, I immediately
found he topic very interesting, for me and for every body who are lucky enough to
hear the words of knowledge towards success. The event mainly circulates on the five
given ingredients to success, these are basically the things we should do to be wiser in
our decision, efficient and effective in our action, and thus, to find the real, clear way
to success, in our respective field. Given by the speaker, who was also a member of
Asin and Ilaw Community, a society of catholic with missionary in our university, the
five main actions to succeed are: Believe in yourself, look for a mentor, attitude,
choice theory, and God.

First, he discussed about believing in one’s self, it is basically the one thing that
we and solely ourselves can deal with. Because the belief to self may not originally
come from oitside, it should start with you, and just let the outer stimuli work
with it positively. If you don’t believe in yourself, others will not believe in your
capacity as well. So let them know you trust yourself and they will wait for your
fruitful action. Believing in yourself is believinf in anything you can do, your dreams,
and the actions you will do to achieve that paricular dream. Next, the speaker told us
about looking for a mentor. There is always a room for improvement, lessons in life
cannot only find within just yourself, you need someone who will bring
improvements to you, morally, emotonally, and spiritually, bacause anything that
comes from an expert is your fuel to be the one too. Trust your mentor as you trust
yourself because you cannot live in this world by your own. Another important factor
is attitude, it is very applicable to all situations and the one that matters to anyone we
will meet. We have to change our bad attitudes to gain respect and get more
opportunities, change for the better, our attitude towards work, ourself and most
importanly towards other people. Also, he talked about he choice theory, that it all
starts with a matter of choice, we shoukd select very carefully what to do, choose
where to go and balance every considerations in every choice you will make. Lastly
but definitely no the least, have faith in God, it generally tells about our belief to
devine providence, that there is always someobe guiding us, in every hardships and
challenges we are in, and the successes we cherish.
