In the lab exercise, you will observe some predefined job roles that are specific to Engagement
Cloud.

Practice 4-1: Job Roles

Goal
 Access and observe job roles

Time
~5 minutes

Overview
In this practice you will access the Manage Job Roles task and view some of the available job
roles.

Tasks
1. Sign in to the employee application using your assigned login.
2. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance > Service.
3. In the Administration section, click Setup.

4. Notice that some Functional Areas are shared and others are unique to the Service
offering.
5. In Functional Areas, select Users and Security.
6. In the Task list, select All Tasks.
7. Click Manage Job Roles to start the task.

Note: In the remaining labs, this will be abbreviated to "Navigate to Setup and Maintenance
> Service > Setup > Users and Security > Manage Job Roles" or "Start the Manage Job
Roles task".
8. If you see a warning message about synchronizing job roles, click OK to dismiss it.
9. View the two principle Customer Service job roles available.
a. Set Search = Job roles.
b. Search for Customer Service.

c. Under Search Results, read the descriptions for the first two results, Customer Service
Manager and Customer Service Representative.
10. Click the Customer Service Representative job role.
11. On the right, view the roles from which Customer Service Representative inherits.
12. Search for Job roles = Service Administrator.
13. Observe that no job roles are found, because there is no separate Service Administrator
role.
The Sales Administrator role provides all the privileges that a Service Administrator needs.
