ABSTRACT

Gaming is an activity that is fun for everyone. In its development, some games can be
packaged in the form of education which is a game that is able to stimulate the contemplative
faculties also increase the concentration of its users. Along with the rapid development of mobile
technology, In many ways, it turns out transforming learning process and the delivery of
information that is switched to using smartphones. One of the information that can be packaged
into a media that can provide a new experience using mobile devices is an educational game that
can train thought and memory and is able to introduce the culture and potential of local products
to the wider community. With this educational game users not only play games but can train
memory and get information about the culture and potential of native products, especially the
Garut region.

The research method used is digital game based learning - instructional design
consisting of 5 phases, namely phase analysis, phase design, development phase, quality
assurance then implementation and evaluation. Storyboard making is done to convey ideas from
making educational games so that they can be understood easily by readers. The results of
research on the Android-based picture guessing game design can provide a new experience in
training thinking power and memory and able to introduce regional culture and product potential.

FOREWORD

Alhamdulillah, the praise and gratitude of the writer prays the presence of Allah SWT, who has bestowed His grace,
so that the writer can complete the Thesis Proposal. Salutation and greetings do not forget to write to the Majesty of
the Prophet Muhammad.
This thesis proposal is prepared to fulfill some requirements in order to obtain a Computer Sajana degree. As a sense
of gratitude, the authors thank as much as possible to parents who have supported and educated writers up to now
who have provided both material and spiritual encouragement and to:
1. Dr. H. Hilmi Aulawi, ST., MT, as Chairman of the Garut College of Technology.
2. Mr. Rinda Cahyana, MT, as Chair of the Informatics Study Program.
3. Mr. Ridwan Setiawan, M.Kom, as Secretary of the Informatics Study Program.
4. Mrs. Dewi Tresnawati, S.Si, MT, as the main counseling who has provided direction and input so that she can
complete this Thesis Proposal.
5. All Teaching Staff and Academic Community in Garut Technology High School.
6. Friends and colleagues in the 2014 Informatics Study Program.
The author realizes that in the preparation of this thesis proposal there are still many shortcomings and are far from
perfection. Therefore, constructive criticism and suggestions for future improvement. Finally the author hopes that
this Thesis Report can be useful for writers especially and for general readers.
