RUBE GOLDBERG COMPETITION

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. The competition is open to all PICE Student Chapters Members.
2. Participants must be registered to Civil Engineering Day Offs 2019.

VENUE:
The venue of the testing proper will be at the S.M. Rolle Hall. The time and day is to be
announced before the contest proper.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES:
1. A team shall not consist of not more than 10 members per team.
2. Registration fee of PHP 170.00 shall be charged per team.
3. A fine of PHP 700.00 will be collected for every section that cannot
provide any representative.

TECHNICAL RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS:

1. An equivalent area of 6 square feet platform shroud be constructed for
the machine with a simple secure way to fasten it together. Steps that
bridge machines sections should easy to connect. The rest of the machine
is up to the participants.
2. The machine’s aim is to RAISE A FLAG. The starting point is by INSERTING A COIN.
3. Every team must have a leader. The best of the three trials with a reset for
each run will be considered. ONLY TWO people may touch the machine
while it is being reset. No repairs will be allowed during the run.
4. There will be no time limit, no cost limit and no limit on the materials to be
used. Your imagination is the only limit. But of course, the machine SHOULD NOT BE
EXPENSIVE, be made from recoverable and recycled materials such as old toys
scrapped materials, or old pieces of appliances.
5. A detailed description of entry is needed to be submitted two days before the
contest.
6. Only two members of the team shall be allowed to assist the judges during
the testing.
