Define organizational behavior and how can we connect OB and our everyday life?

Answer: 1
1. The study which reflects human behavior within an organization towards each other,
whether the performance of an individual or a group for a certain purpose and
organization system working together to attain a sustainable goal effectively and
efficiently.
2. In our everyday life OB plays a vital role in improving our life standards.
3. Psychological effect of every individual person affects organizational behavior. For
example: when a person is hesitated or in a state of depression with his personal matters.
He will show the same attitude in his organization. On the other hand; when a person will
be delighted, his productivity increases at a higher level as he get more motivated
because of the pleasant frame of mind.
4. Our behavior to others and others’ behavior to us within a group is really much connected
in our daily life. For example: when a person itself is not attentive or not willing to give
any input, his individual behavior will affect the whole group and organization, similarly
when group members are not giving attention to that individual, and ignore him for any
sort of reason. So their behavior with that particular person will affect the individual as
well as an organization.
5. The important point is that hierarchy (structure) of an organization has also impact on our
daily life. For example: when two friends graduated together and applied in the same
organization, one has been selected for a higher post while the other is selected for lower
post. Undoubtedly the communication barriers will arise between them because of the
difference of hierarchy.

Explain with examples that how Organizational Behavior have their base in the dynamics
of our family background.

Answer: 2
1. Dynamics of our background plays an important role in shaping our organizational
behavior towards our co-workers.
2. Hofstede’s framework collectivism and individualism is a part of organization structure
and has also practiced in our family environment.
3. For example: The concept of collectivism is valuable in families as people prefer to live
together to strengthening their family bonding’s, similarly; the same aspect of this
behavior has become the part of an organization where the entire firm follows hierarchy
system.
4. The other aspect is that people have become dependent to each other in a situation of
crisis. As such our family elders look in to our problems and help us to resolve them.
Likewise, within an organization leaders also motivate and look for the alternative of
issues for their team.
5. When people having different cultures and caste, joins an organization with their
respective backgrounds. This will create a diversified environment so the attributes of
an organization will also reflect in our cultures, caste and background.
