Ups & Downs in life

On a hot summer day, in the month of May

When the gulls were flying high,
The birds were singing and I was snoozing
On the sandy beach-side.
The day was bright and tides at a height,
As the sun was blazing with at its might,
Suddenly, the clouds growled and waves howled
And so, turned the bright day into night
As the day grew darker and violence increased
The waves were tossing a ship like a leaf
As I ran into a cabin, seeking shelter;
The doors opened and let me enter.
As I sat on the window-sill,
I sighted that the waves were on a thrill
The wind was playing with the waves
They danced until their legs ached.
As the sunlight broke through the clouds,
I ran and jumped out.
As I raised my head in a go,
I saw a fabulous rainbow.
With seven colours it mingled with the sky
And I couldn’t believe my own eyes;
Such are ups and downs in life
But one must not get defeated by them,
Because when you have struggled through the darkness
You will know the importance of light
And the moments received for your work
Would be worth cherishable
