Purpose: To give students the skills to know the signs of love and infatuation and be able to
distinguish between the two. Be able to show others how you would want to be viewed by
others.
Objective(s)/Benchmark:
Students will know the signs for love.
Students will know the signs of infatuation.

Preparation: Students will have prior knowledge on the subject of human growth and
development. Lessons such as growth and development, parental development, components of
healthy relationships will all be beneficial to this lesson.
9:10 Love vs. Infatuation discussion What is love? What is infatuation? Examples
- of love and infatuation. Can infatuation turn
9:20 into love? What are some consequences that
can happen during infatuation?
9:30 Brain Break (Gotcha) 1. Stand up and get into groups of 3-10 people.
4. When the instructor says “Gotcha”, you are to try to grab the
person’s finger that is in your palm, and at the same time avoid
being grabbed by the person you are pointing to. 5. Repeat with
your arms crossed.
