draiguna.com/2018/10/arcanoweave-part-1.html

Hello! Today I'm sharing the pattern for this little doily called Arcane Aura. It has 8
rounds and measures about 4" in diameter if using size 10 thread. The thread I used is
Aunt Lydias size 10 cotton crochet thread in the colors Purple and Wood Violet.

Here are links for the next 2 sections-

Part 2- Incanter's Insight

Round 3- slip st in next ch-1 space, ch 1, sc in same space, [ch 2, sc in next ch-1 space]
around, ch 1, sc in first sc to make last ch-2 space. (16 sc, 16 ch-2 spaces)

Round 4- ch 1, sc in same space, [ch 3, sc in next ch-2 space] around, dc in first sc to

make last ch-3 space. (16 sc, 16 ch-3 spaces)

Round 5- beg 3-dc cluster in same space, [ch 5, 3-dc cluster in next ch-3 space] around,
ch 2, dc in first 3-dc cluster to make last ch-5 space. (16 3-dc clusters, 16 ch-5 spaces)

Round 6- ch 6 (counts as first dc and ch-3 space), ★ [dc, ch 3] twice in center ch of next
ch-5 space, skip next 5 sts, repeat from ★

around, dc in same st as first dc, ch 1, hdc in third ch of first dc to make last ch-3 space.
(32 dc, 32 ch-3 spaces)

3/8
Round 7- ch 3 (counts as first dc), 3 dc in same space, slip st in next ch-3 space, [7 dc in
next ch-3 space, slip st in next ch-3 space] around, 3 dc in same space as first dc, slip st
to third ch of first dc. (112 dc)

Round 8- cluster, picot, cluster, [skip next 6 dc, slip st in next dc, cluster, picot, cluster]
around, slip st in same st as first cluster made, fasten off and weave in ends. (32 clusters,
16 picots)

Blocking and Finishing

It is optional but recommended to block your finished piece. Fill a bowl with water and
add some liquid starch if you prefer the doily to be lightly stiffened. Soak the doily and
gently press out any excess liquid, being careful not to pull or twist on the stitches. Lay it
flat on a blocking mat and pin the doily working from the center out to the edges. Allow
the doily to dry completely before removing the pins.

4/8
Here is a chart of the doily. Start with ch 5 and slip st in the 5th ch from hook to make a
ring. There are 16 dc in the first round.

5/8
Starting Round 8
Step 1- ch 3 and make a dc in the third ch from the hook (first cluster made).
Step 2- ch 3 and make a slip st in the third ch from the hook (picot made).
Step 3- Repeat Step 1 to make the second cluster.
Step 4- Skip the next 6 dc and make a slip st in the next dc (center dc of next 7-dc group).
6/8
I hope that you enjoyed this pattern! Stay tuned for part 2! :D

Blocking and Finishing

4/15
It is optional but recommended to block your finished piece. Fill a bowl with water and
add some liquid starch if you prefer the doily to be lightly stiffened. Soak the doily and
gently press out any excess liquid, being careful not to pull or twist on the stitches. Lay it
flat on a blocking mat and pin the doily working from the center out to the edges. Allow
the doily to dry completely before removing the pins.

Round 9

Attaching the thread on Round 9 and making the first front post single crochet (FPSc)

6/15
Step 1- With the wrong side of your work facing up, insert hook around post of any
center dc of the 7-dc group on Round 7.

Step 2- Pick up a loop of the thread you are joining and draw through.

Step 3- Ch 1.

Step 4- To make the first FPsc, insert hook around the post of the same dc and pick up a
loop.

Step 5- Pull up a loop, there should be 2 loops now on the hook.

Step 6- yo and draw through both loops on the hook.

7/15
Finishing Round 9

Insert hook around the post of the next dc (same st as the first FPsc) and above the first
FPsc and make the last FPsc. To make the last ch-5 space, ch 2 and dc in the first FPsc.

8/15
9/15
Round 10

10/15
Working with the right side of the doily facing up, ch 3 (counts as first dc), and make 6 dc
in the same st (the dc of last ch-5 space made). [ch 3 and make 7 dc in the center ch of
the next ch-5 space] around. To make the last ch-3 space- ch 1 and hdc in the third ch of
the first dc.

11/15
Making the first FPdc on Round 11

Step 1- yo and insert hook around the post of the next dc.

Step 2- yo and pull up a loop, there should be 3 loops on the hook.

Blocking and Finishing

6/15
It is optional but recommended to block your finished piece. Fill a bowl with water and
add some liquid starch if you prefer the doily to be lightly stiffened. Soak the doily and
gently press out any excess liquid, being careful not to pull or twist on the stitches. Lay it
flat on a blocking mat and pin the doily working from the center out to the edges. Allow
the doily to dry completely before removing the pins.

Starting Round 20
7/15
1- With the wrong side of the doily facing up, join the thread around the post of center
dc of any 15 dc group on Round 18. Ch 1 and FPsc around the same st.

2- FPsc around each of next 7 dc on Round 18. Skip the next FPdc decrease. FPsc
around each of the next 5 dc.

3- Ch 7.

4- Turn your work over so the right side is now facing up.

8/15
Round 20 continued

1- Skip the next 9 sc, sc in the next sc, slip st in the next sc.

2- ch 1 and turn your work back over so that the wrong side is facing up.

3- 11 dc in the ch-7 space just made.

4- FPsc around each of next 2 dc on Round 18.

For the remainder of the round repeat from ★ to ★ 15 times-

★ [FPsc, ch 3, FPsc] around next dc, FPsc around each of next 7 dc, skip next FPdc
decrease, sc in each of next 5 dc, ch 7, turn, skip next 9 sc, sc in next sc, slip st in next sc,
9/15
ch 1, turn, 11 sc in next ch-7 space, FPsc around each of next 2 dc on Round 18, repeat
from ★ around, FPsc around next dc, above the first FPsc made, ch 1, hdc in first FPsc to
make last ch-3 space.

Rounds 25 to 31, left side of the pineapple only

This is optional if you prefer the look of the pineapple in the photo on the right, though it
is a little bit more work. The steps on how to do this are shown below. You can also do
this with the smaller pineapples if you like :)

10/15
FPdc twice around next FPdc, making the second FPdc behind the first. It helps to make
the FPdc stitches on the left side of the pineapple look the same as the FPdc stitches on
the right side.

1- After completing the last sc of the pineapple, FPdc around the next FPdc.

2- yo, and pull the FPdc just made to the front so you can work behind it. Insert hook
from front to back around the post of the same st as the last FPdc made.

3- Yo and pull up a loop. (3 loops on hook).

4 and 5- [yo, and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice to compete the second FPdc.

11/15
Sc in same dc and FPdc around same dc on Round 33

1- Ch 3 to start the round.

2- FPdc around the next dc.

3- Pull the FPdc just made to the side and working in the same dc make a sc.

4- continue the round with- [ch 1, sc in next dc] 4 times.

5- FPdc around the post of the same dc as the last sc made.

6- dc in the next dc.
