 1. INTRODUCTION
The real estate company is venturing into alternative sectors of housing in India i.e.;
Senior citizen housing. It is in greater demand due to increasing life expectancy,
decreasing fertility rate, lower mortality rates and overall enhancement of the
standard of living across the world which has contributed to people living longer than
before.1 It is a great opportunity for the company as the population and demand is
equally escalating in coming years unlike the conventional sectors the project
demands intensive research and analysis.

2. OBJECTIVE
To design a survey questionnaire for senior citizen housing project in Google forms,
identifying the most desirable services, amenities etc. that should be provided in the
project based on rating obtained. Thus the important aim is to create a project with
optimum market potential in Indian context while learning from the completed
projects in this sector in other parts of the world.

3. PROBLEM STATEMENT
 Availability of land parcels is a major issue in urban areas where legal authorities
come into picture.
 Vertical structure in urban areas.
 Semi-urban areas can focus on developing horizontal and low-rise houses.
 Innovative thinking and functionality in housing development is required.
 Integrated development is challenging in such kind of project which requires
catering to diverse facilities like living area, health-care, community areas, club-
houses trained and skilled manpower to take care of the aged group of people,
barrier free areas (wheel chair, anti-skid floors, ramps, grab bars etc.)
 Requirement and choice of housing typology, locality and amenities may differ
from person to person.
