An international organisation is looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead and manage a
comprehensive media development programme in Tanzania. The Programme Manager will be based in Dar es-
Salaam with occasional travel within the country including Zanzibar.
Main responsibilities
The Programme Manager is responsible for overall project cycle management and implementation. The
responsibilities will include:
• Devise and implement processes to ensure that the programme keeps track of and meets deadlines for
delivering activities, reporting progress, reporting finances, planning extensions, and renewing or ending
individual and partner contracts
• Ensure that the results-based framework is duly monitored according to the M&E system, including
assessing impact, monitoring processes, and recording lessons learned so that implementation is
continually improved
• Prepare project-related documents, including general terms for contracts, MoU’s, reports, capacity
assessments of partners
• Develop and maintain relations with all key partners to the programme
• Ensure implementation of overall programme reviews and evaluations
• Develop relations and programmatic interaction with Tanzanian, international donors, regional and
international stakeholders
• Plan and undertake regular missions outside the capital city in connection with programme design,
implementation and/or monitoring and evaluation
• Monitor closely and report on the socio-political and media context in Tanzania and ensure relevant
colleagues are briefed about important developments
• Develop and implement communication and visibility strategies for the programme, including content for
the programme website and other communication platforms
• Manage the office, including staff
• Oversee the programme budget and financial expenditure
• Plan and supervising procurements and logistics related to the programme
• Ensure that local regulations and requirements are being followed

This is a time-limited position for up to 2 ½ years. The position is full time. Compensation commensurate with
experience. Duty station: Dar es-Salaam. Frequent/Occasional travel activity must be expected. Starting date: As
soon as possible.
