Urinary screening is done through dipstick tests which
must be done twice with 2 weeks interval to improve the specificity of the dipstick test, avoid the interference of exercise or emotional stress and detect persistent urinary abnormalities. Persistent finding in the 2nd dipstick test should be examined through microscopic urine analysis to detect persistent urinary abnormalities. Children with confirmed abnormal urine examination should be further evaluatd by another investigations according to the finding (As urine culture, renal function tests and ultrasound ). By this way asymptomatic urinary abnormalities can be detected by the preschool screening program, a way for early management of some renal diseases.
