Lesson3: Baby Animal and Adult Animals

The 5e’s (Elaborate + making poster)

Misconceptions for learners: maybe confused between shapes.

Identifying and addressing these misconceptions: Teacher will explain and show for them
several pictures to be clear and understand.

The content: Baby animals – Adult animals

In the third lesson about animals grow, students learn vocabulary about adult Animal and
young animal, students will use different tools to create a poster to representing. And show the
students pictures of adult animals and young animals and ask students questions for example
which one adult animals and which one young animal by showing them pictures and tell the
students to turn and talk. Then we sew a video to let students engage.

Essential Question:

How the young animals change to grow animals?


Guide Questions:

 which one is adult and which one is young?


 how are baby animals different from their parents?
 What baby animals need from his parents?
 Which one adult animals and which one young animals?

Instruction sheet for each groups:

Before we starting the activities I model for them which one is adult animals and young by using
materials and pictures of animals.

Outcome: Students will able to learn and differentiate the adult and young animals.

Safety brief: remained students to use the scissors carefully.

Activity Name (List of Fun Animals Grow)

The master group:

St will work individuals and they have A3 paper and pictures of adult animals and young
animals and they should to write the title and stick in A3 paper the adult animals with his
young animal for example (sheep – lamb). And write underneath which one is adult and
which one is young.

Activity Name (Super Fun Animals Grow )

Developing group:

St will work in pairs and they will have flint and pictures of adult animals and young animals,
they should to write the title and stick the adult animals with his young animal in the right
Colum.
Activity Name (Plates of Animals Grow )

Emerging group:

St will work individuals each students will have plate that divided by 4 and they should to
write the title in the plate then they have pictures of adult animals and young animals they
should to stick in the plate adult animals with his young animal.

Extra activity: Each students have different card. Students solve the exit ticket cards
that have two question the first question is circle the adult animals and the second question
circle the young animals and worksheet to draw your favorite’s animals and write if it’s adult or
young or both.

Literacy thought:

It support reading and listening to read and listen to the vocabulary words by learners use
information from seeing the pictures and video. And Speaking, students see the pictures of
adult and young animal and I ask them questions and let them to (turn and talk) it help learners
orally.

Summative assessment In the end of the lesson I used Peer assessment which I let students to
(turn and talk). Student self-assessment for each student, some students should to circle the
adult animals and other students should to circle the young animals. Also I used summative
assessment in the end of the unite which is test to draw the adult animals to check if students
distinguish between adult and young animal.
