“When learning about three-dimensional shapes in your geometry classroom. There

are pretty easy shapes that we tend to already have memorized such as a sphere, a
cube, a cone, and a cylinder. However, we also learn about shapes like rectangular
prism, rectangular pyramid, triangular prism, or triangular pyramid. But what
exactly is the difference between a triangular pyramid and a triangular prism? Well,
we know they both involve triangles so we need to break down what the difference
is between a pyramid and a prism. A prism has two congruent bases that are
connected by rectangular or square sides. A pyramid only has one base and has
triangles sides that connect at a single point. So for a triangular prism it is a shape
that has two triangular bases that are connected by rectangular sides and a
triangular pyramid has one triangle base with triangle sides that all connect at a
single point.”
