DAY-2

 SCHOOL NAME: DALIMBA GORADI PRIMARY SCHOOL

 PLACE NAME: DALIMBA GORADI

 STRENGTH OF THE SCHOOL: MALE: 20, FEMALE:19, PWD:0, TEACHERS:2

 KEY FINDINGS: The key findings are

 The school is only for Dalimba Goradi Village, provides education to all till 5th standard.
 There is no playground and boundary around the school premises.
 There is no library and laboratory facility.
 The school authority has arranged a TV which is used as a projector to visualize educational
programmes.
 There is provision of publishing wall magazines where students are usually involved in cultural and
creative ideas and their ideas are being reflected in those magazines.
 The CCTV monitoring is not there.
 There is kitchen for cooking mid-day meal and the Fani has affected the infrastructure.
 The school doesn’t have the accessibility to First-aid Box.
 There is no SMC (School Management Committee) to take care of any matters related to school.
 The psychosocial aspects of students are not given that much of priority as it should be.

 OBSERVATIONS:

a) SCHOOL BUILDING: The school building is constructed by Government. As local contractors


constructed the building without maintaining National building Code,2005. It is observed that there
were some uncovered wires in the office room and in class rooms too. Toilets and Bathrooms are
having adequate water facility with inspections and regulations. The school needs three more
classroom as they don’t have separate classroom to teach.
b) FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT: There is only one fire extinguisher which is not in its place. And no
Safety Management Committee is there.
c) Earthquake Management: The main building is not safe from Earthquake. And there is no effect of
NDMA Guidelines. Services are restricted to the power and supervision of State Government.
d) Flood/Cyclone/landslide management: The school is being situated near Bay of Bengal, but there are
no mechanisms offered by the school authority itself. Kitchen of the school has been affected by
Fani cyclone.
e) ELECTRICAL SAFETY: The electric facility is being maintained and supervised by the Konark Electric
Committee.
f) Safety from constructional hazards: There is no hazards related to threating of life. Because, no
construction is going on.

g) Safety in the playground and sports activities: There is no playground and its very dangerous for the
students to play in the school as there is no boundary and there is a pond which is in a unsafe
distance.
h) Water safety: Only a tube well is there for potable water
i) THERE IS NO TRANSPORT SERVICES IN TEEMS OF SCHOLLM BUS OR VAN.
j) TRAUMA MANAGEMENT: The school doesn’t have that much of knowledge on the concept of
trauma, they believe that the students are too little to understand this kind of concept.
k) Safety of the children with disabilities: there are no facilities for disabled students.
l) Health: They provide periodic (thrice in a year) health check-up facilities with the help of PHCs and
there are no concerned authorities to keep the medical records of the students. The teachers use to
keep contact with the parents about the students. Water lodging issue is predominant. In kitchen,
food and utensils are uncovered and worker are not maintaining standard health and hygiene
sanitation.
m) Safety of Children against Sexual Abuse: The School authority used to give to give the students some
orientation about good touch and bad touch, they have not displayed any kind of poster related to
child abuse. Even the teachers didn’t get any kind of training on the topic related to sexual abuse of
children.

CONCLUSION
During the time of school auditing, there were so many questions that were totally unknown to the
respondents. As it is a government school, so many facilities are unavailable. As there are only 2
teachers, there is no school management committee. This is making issues to plan further for the
betterment of the school. medical safety or even first aid box is unavailable there. After fani cyclone
the school kitchen also got affected. The school has a smaller number of classrooms to teach 5
classes. Overall it can be said that there should be many improvisations on the infrastructure of the
school.
