FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY 13 QUESTION 3.

What are two of the

strategies would you develop and implement to assist the workforce in the article

deal with organisational change? Why do you think these strategies would be

successful in reducing the stress that comes with change and helping employees to

deal with change?

Training: Employees might need training in new skills that will be needed when

changes are implemented in the organisation like training seminars, classroom

teaching, training manuals, online training and one on one coaching.

Communication: I would inform employees of the nature of the proposed change,

the reasons for the change, when the change will occur, how it will be introduced, the

impact of the changes on the organisations and employees. Ongoing communication

not only reduces resistance to change it also increases likelihood that change will be

implemented successfully.

Leadership: I will create a collaborative leadership style, leaders need to guide

employees through change and provide assistance to employees who are having

difficulty dealing with change.

Guarantees: If possible, I will provide employees with guarantees that employees

will not be disadvantaged as a result of proposed change. This will help break down

employee resistance to change.

Other techniques I might utilise include: providing counselling to help employees,

encouraging participation with employees about proposed changes with 3rd parties

such as superfunds, building a work environment that is conducive to change, giving

people enough time to deal with and adjust change, giving people enough time to

learn new skills that are required as a result of change, developing action plans to

manage the transition period.
