Identify six strategies with

the potential to attract and recruit more Indigenous Australians to help organisations

to attract a diverse workforce.

The strategies include:

1) introduce discussions and collaborations with local Indigenous Australian

communities;

2) build up trust and positive relationships with local Indigenous communities;

3) interview applicants informally, using hands-on assessment that involves

machinery and practical tasks;

4) recognise processes that could be culturally biased and work to rectify them;

5) inform potential applicants by placing ads on Indigenous radio and community

centre;

6) promote a reputation as an employer of choice;

7) give applicants the opportunity to experience work before choosing

employment;

8) use Indigenous employees as role models.
