system s (H R an d H V) of bol t/n u t/wash er assem bl i es, see Tabl e 1 . Both system s are wel l proven an d i t i s th e

respon si bi l i ty of th e experts u si n g stru ctu ral bol ti n g wh eth er th e y u se th e on e or th e oth er system .

I t i s, h owever, i m portan t for th e perform an ce of th e assem bl y to avoi d m i xi n g u p th e com pon en ts of both

system s. Th erefore, bol ts an d n u ts for both s ystem s are stan d ard i zed i n on e si n g l e part of th i s Eu ropean

Stan d ard each an d th e m arki n g of th e com pon en ts of th e sam e system i s u n i form .

Prel oad ed bol ted assem bl i es are very sen si ti ve to d i fferen ces i n m an u factu re an d l u bri cati on . Th erefore i t i s

i m portan t th at th e bol ti n g assem bl i es are su ppl i ed by on e m an u factu rer wh o i s al wa ys respon si bl e for th e

fu n cti on al i ty of th e bol ti n g assem bl i es.
